04 Sierra Ac Trouble

When running my ac the driver side runs cool(although not cold), but the passenger side runs hot. Any ideas?

faulty HVAC door actuator on the passenger side. It's either bad or has over traveled and hung open. It's about $200 from the dealer or 30 minutes labor for them to reflash the BCM to update the actuator travel limits.

Is the A/C compressor in the engine compartment kicking in?

 

I assume you have an electronic control? Try moving it to hot, then back to cold a few times. See if you can hear a door moving. (There is a little door which moves back and forth for cold/warm/hot.) This door would be somewhere under the dash.

 

Does it get hot when moved to hot? Then cool/warm when moved back to cold?

 

If compressor is kicking in and the door seems to be working, might want to put gauges on the A/C and see what the pressures are.

This has happened to me twice. Each time I unplugged the battery for a while and then it worked as normal again.
