Tail Gate Lock

I have been trying to install the tail gate lock and have been having trouble getting it to work. It seems like I have everything lined up but I can't get it to lock. Any one have any experience adding the tail gate lock kit?

you can put it in backward.... trying spinning it around in the bezel.

No,no.. the fob won't do it, you have to actually use the key.

power lock that is hidden or is it one that you can see?

It bolts right in - what's not working on yours?

I purcahsed an aftermarket one for my last truck and had no issues, the pics above show how to do it perfectly.

Is it possible you didn't get the right lock for your tailgate?

I got it from my local chevy dealer. When I try to turn the key to lock it it doesn't seem to work right. It won't lock. Does the piece on the back of the lock go through the square hole on the handle???

Does the lock turn without it being mounted, did you try some spray lube? I have to push a little on the tailgate to get mine to lock sometimes.

 

What is the part number for the power one? I want to upgrade to use my remote.
