Tbi Performance Upgrades

I just put a rebuilt 350 into my 93 k1500 with headers and dual exhaust and air filter mod.

It gets up a goes pretty good empty but i would like some more hp for hauling light loads and long hills.

I can get a Edelbrock tbi performer intake and Power aid tbi spacer used in good shape for cheap. How much HP gains will i get with these?

I know the stock tbi is pretty crappy but what is the best option to gain a bit more fuel flow and performace?

I wish i would have swapped out the cam when i had the engine out.

Thanks.

the spacer could possibly help with your TBI, they are usuless on MPI engines, anyways you could see 15-25hp with intake and spacer, you`ll probly notice more grunt off the line. There are options for aftermarket throttle bodies and injectors but unless you have increased you displacment or put in a cam they are not worth the $$$$, they can be expensive!

I would highly recommend a custom computer tune for your truck, it will give you the most benefits, I know for sure WESTERS can tune a 93 gm truck, but its best to find someone locally, for ease of service.

I've read about tb spacers not doing much but if I can get the intake manifold and tb spacer for $100.

I'm defiantly going to look into a tune/chip.

My TBI is pretty worn. The truck had 250k miles on it before i put the rebuilt 350 in it. I did a napa rebuild kit but that doesn't replace much.

Any suggestions for a rebuilt tbi?

Thanks

That was the key phrase right there... Had that done, now working on the fuel system. I ran a spacer on my TBI for a while, wasn't too impressed. The combination of small TBI and the motor internals/heads that keep these work horse motors down. Personally, I would go with the performaer and pick up one of the 46mm TBI units. That is actually the way I am leaning, but I had a cam put in on my rebuild to help me out. Of course I lost the tranny after 6 months...
