I'll chime in from the Hawkeye State! New member, but been looking around for a while now. Haven't had much to say but thought I'd let you know you're not alone. Just south of Okoboji, Iowa Great Lakes Region.

I was born there (Centerville)..

 

And I was in Iowa in late August.... Centerville - Ottumwa and points west. The weather was really nice. I was expecting hot & humid.
