8.1l/496 Block Casting Numbers

newbie here!

just wondering, i have a 02 chevy HD with the 8.1L casting number 12556110, and i just bought another 8.1l with casting number of 12558110. can anyone tell me the difference? thanks

The answer is 2000.

 

Seriously though, I haven't a clue. I can check my '03 Sub to see which number I have, although I haven't heard that there are any differences between truck and suv 8.1L engines.
