  5. If GM is so inclined to put AFM on all the trucks, at least let us decided from the factory if It is turned on or off. The new Vettes have selectable AFM, and I think the Ram trucks do as well with the ECO button inside the cab.

  6. The air dam is designed to divert air around and under the truck reducing drag and increasing MPG's. The design on these trucks is modeled after the aerodynamics engineered on the Corvette. The downside is that it's in the way if you go off-roading and other instances where you need clearance. Removing it only affects your fuel economy because of more wind resistance and will not harm the truck in any way.

  7. The AMP steps are, by far, the best purchase I've made for my '14 Silverado. Happy wife, happy life.

  8. You would think with all the bad press these days GM wouldn't bother someone over a mild tune. To get the funky out of the trans, and to dial out the V4 till after 60 MPH would put a smile on a lot of faces. I don't care what kind of exhaust you have the V4 sucks. Its the truck crazy people who talk and join clubs anyway keep them happy and the word spreads. All the money GM, Ford and Dodge spend in motor sports so we buy their stuff, then tell us we cant do a few mods that's crazy as hell.

  9. So I don't like the factory steps at all on my 2014, they're clunky, stick out too far and to me they ruin the looks. I'm 6'1" and don't need them but my shorter wife does. On my 2011 extended cab I had installed a set of OEM Tahoe running boards and it looked so clean, they mounted flush and there wasn't a gap and it all flowed together with the lines of the truck if that makes sense. As I found out, the rocker panels for the Suburban and crew cab had all the mounting holes in the same place as did the Tahoe and extended cab. They bolted up perfectly once I got the hardware. I'm gonna ditch the ones on it now and try to find a set off a 2015 Suburban. No luck finding a set yet but a set will probably turn up sooner or later. Now I'm wondering if the factory running boards off the earlier generation Suburbans would bolt up. I wish a neighbor drove one so I could crawl underneath and take a look. They are not hard to find.

  11. The two dealers I deal with are very different. One holds very strong to not wanting to deal with any truck outside of the maintenance warranty if you have a any combination of lift components (whether it be body and/or suspension) that brings your truck a total of 4" higher. They blame any break on the lift or if you drop the truck. "Oh sir, the reason why your headlight went out is clearly because you lifted your truck 5" and put on bigger tires. The bulbs are just not meant to be at that height" While the other dealer lets you do YOUR truck the way YOU WANT because it's YOUR truck and you are the reason why they are getting business. You can drop, raise, hell, you could strap wings on it. They still warranty any GM part. Moral of the story is, you gotta find a good dealer. One that is realistic and wants the customer to be happy on the road and at the dealership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. I stumbled on a local California outfit named Baja Designs. Their lights are made in house and warrantied for life. Seems like a real deal kind of American company. They had a video explaining offroad driving light patterns needed. Off course they were talking mainly about racing, but they did mention the need for side lighting to see when turning and sliding. They showed a race truck with a set of lights mounted pointing sharply outward like 45 degrees. They make all kinds of configurations, and types from LED to HID, including bars. They make a small two LED light that's 2100 lumens each and about 2" x 3" that I think will work for my needs. I plan to run 4 of them. But just ordered 2 for now, just to try them. If they are what I want, I'll order another set. I plan to have a set pointing outward and a set pointing straight ahead. The first set I bought are wide beams. The second set may be tight beams. I want the independent lights so I can adjust them as needed. Straight ahead lighting is going to be covered mainly by the headlights while off road. I drive fairly slowly off road, but winding trails can be hard to see to the side. The Jeep guys are putting lights on the mirrors pointing out about 20-30 degrees. That's probably the ideal location, but I don't want to get into wiring and mounting in the mirrors. http://www.bajadesigns.com/ProductDetail?ItemNumber=480003 Here's their approach to lighting needs.

  16. I removed the 12v outlets and replaced with toggle switches - they are a perfect fit - pictures make it look like they are gapped out but that's not the case - just bad photo Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
