AC Condenser replacement
camcamaro1991 replied to benjdow's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
There is a A/C sticker under the hood, why would you not just look yourself, its near 0.600kg ish… DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WITH SEALER, its not 100% refrigerant DO NOT BUY IT. typically its very easy to tell, small can more money however if you dont have a A/C machine I would not mess with it, these newer smaller systems are sensitive to over/under refrigerant amounts. -
a few days, R&R interior is time consuming, but its far more work to "correctly" install the CLD & Foam & LLP... but worth it. also I didn't really show it but the doors are full CLD on the inside skin and inside frame.
-
The best thing I ever did for my sound system was install full sound deadening my vehicle, from roof to floor pan. full CLD & LLP doors to floor, during my install I also covered the factory Bose sub with CLD... and sitting in the rear seats, the Bose sub is really pronounced.

I have 2 grilles, OEM Denali, and take off AT, I have the AT as I used the paint matched surround to reduce the amount of chrome. I know there is a lot more room on my Denali grille left/right vs my AT grille. however as you stated fitment is a issue as the emblems are larger, still might try this if I can get a good deal on the newer emblem. outside of that, hopefully they release this for the K2xx's then, as only the chevy's got it for the K2xx's for giggles can you post the size specs for K2xx & T1 emblems? L,W,H, etc...

Thanks, I am in for the up dates, also if needed I'd volunteer for testing. I am familiar with GM's SPS programing system & GDS2, and use it view or make changes on my own truck, if that matters.

As a former discount tire employee (days of 5 were hired and only 3 could keep their job, today auditions are gone), started back in the firestone/ford recall days, and later becoming a MB Master tech, dealerships have the worst tire and rotation on the planet period. They use impacts on wheel locks... they don't torque locks either. At my dealership it was so bad, I was made the 1 and only wheel and tire guy, 1 guy to do them all, even SLR wheels. Our president would have his family vehicles delivered to me from his other dealerships, that how bad dealership techs are at tires, few and I mean few should ever be allowed to touch a wheel and tire, let alone do flat repairs. none of them could calibrate the balancer install low pros without ripping them, I worked on hundreds of celebrities cars, loads of local sports stars from the cowboys, mavs, stars, FC club, musicians, actors, porn starts, local news reporters, and the ridiculously rich where I was paid to go to their house to remove them bring them back install and drive back out there to re install the assy... etc.... Another example my mom took her esky to caddie dealership, for the typical chrome peeling causing a slow leak, yeah the tech took a grinder to the wheel where the tire bead seals it only made it worse. Working at discount tire was 10x harder than being a MB tech. Dealership techs... LOL and I was one, it was bonkers to watch them F up wheels & tires everyday. I wont let any of my GM dealers touch my wheels and tires, I bought a coats tire machine and hunter tire balancer to do it myself, saving up for an alignment rack next, bet you wish I was your neighbor.

CTS-V 6 Piston Brembo Brake retrofit?
camcamaro1991 replied to CCWray's topic in Modifications & Accessories
The Brembo Performance Brake Upgrade System fits vehicles optioned with 20 or 22-inch wheels, EXCEPT the SEU option wheel. This product does not void the new vehicle limited warranty when installed by an authorized dealer. Brembo Performance Brake Upgrade System part numbers: · Chevrolet - 84409023 (<- new part #) · GMC - 84409024 (<- new part #) · Cadillac – 84409025 (<- new part #) The Brembo Performance Brake Upgrade System packages are sold through Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac new car dealers and can be purchased online at Chevrolet.com/accessories, GMC.com/accessories and Cadillac.com/accessories. I'd install these before retrofitting CTSV brakes -
CTS-V 6 Piston Brembo Brake retrofit?
camcamaro1991 replied to CCWray's topic in Modifications & Accessories
GM sells a big brake upgrade (front only), its a huge upgrade, rear brakes are not really needed as they work fine, Fronts are under sized and GM will continue to sell rotors and pads for the big brake upgrade so if you need parts down the road, and dont forget your spare tire will be too small for bigger brakes. Brembo is vastly superior which is also who makes the GM big brake upgrade. Wilwood is cheaper aftermarket option, really wish folks would stop listing them. Its funny to see more folks used take off Brembos over wilwood's and for good reason as you never see them on real production vehicles or high end track/race cars. -
Sierra 1500 Denali magnetic ride shock failure?
camcamaro1991 replied to Magoomba's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
damn 70K on a 2015 geez, I barely have 9k on mine. Nothing I can do shocks are shocks, MRC's are just slightly more expensive. 80K is just an average depends on lots of conditions etc... -
Sierra 1500 Denali magnetic ride shock failure?
camcamaro1991 replied to Magoomba's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
No learning, everything is based on the sensors, if you didn't zero "0" out the sensors after replacement then it will ride different. (to view the sensor you need a software tool like VCX nano) or the dealership GDS2 DIY'ers these days lol. -
Sierra 1500 Denali magnetic ride shock failure?
camcamaro1991 replied to Magoomba's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
damn old thread, lol Almost all shocks need to be replaced at 80K or before depending on use, its the industry standard. In fact the 80K goes back decades for you not to know seems a bit ridiculous. you guys would cry rivers over MB's ABC suspension system if just 1 shock/strut failed. -
Thank you, the pics dont do it justice, unfortunately the grille surrounds are NOT sold individually hence why I had to buy an entire factory take of black AT. I was not willing to paint it, or paint over my Denali chrome. however if your order a AT grille new they DO NOT COME PAINTED, they have to be paint matched, so it gets expensive quick and added PPF to the surround. Infact the entire front and full hood and fenders have PPF you cant even tell its installed.

Dealer recalibrate speedometer for bigger tires?
camcamaro1991 replied to Hunter79's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Holy old thread! I can program via GM's SPS here at home, I can in for a fact verify GM does NOT update tire size with a calibration or tune for tires, its all based on outside tire diameter infact there is always room for it being off just a little bit, to be more broad spectrum for 18's vs 20's vs 22" as they are not exactly the same but similar enough. Programming is all based on VIN number (unless you are referring to Chris White & MVI custom programming which is not GM's dealer SPS tool, and a closely guarded secret ) however with some control modules there is the ability for deviate like adding rear camera for for the HMI etc. however for gearing and tire size anyone that says its possible with GM dealership SPS software is wrong, for Custom build trucks with big tires the dealer is more than likely using HP Tuners or other 3rd party software like OBD2 canned tuner handheld, or the diablo! Just do you self a favor and pickup HP Tuners and learn yourself, it will open your eyes up. Been using HP Tuners for over 10+ years now, how you guys dont buy is beyond my understanding, its super nice diag... and scanner tool even if you don't tune vehicles. if you want to program at home via SPS, I also recommend the VCX nano programmer w/ SPS subscription 2 years for 1 VIN for $40 (separate cost from the tuner & a good working laptop windows 10 64 bit here and works fine). and they include tech 2 and GDS2 software with the programmer. I have updated a few control modules on my 2016 Truck & 09 V, it works great with TECH 2 and GDS2 for diag... BCM, HVAC, anything the dealer can do. As a former tech for MB, I worked along side the best and worst techs, most I would not let change the oil in my push mower. Its pretty hard to find good honest techs. I will do everything I can to do it myself at home.- 22 replies

I didn't change the grille, but I did change my surround, as ugly as the Denali grille is I could not remove it for an AT grille. I also did my door handles and mirror caps all sourced from factory take offs. I do like a little chrome, as it adds contrast. But not as much as what comes on the vehicle factory. If anyone just wants the center grille for an AT, I would be willing to let it go, NO SURROUND.

camcamaro1991 replied to StayInYourLayne's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
well he didn't mention anything about a lift, had AMPs 1 set, 2 sets, 2or3 motors later all within 6 months, junk boards, and they always fail in the down position. best day is when I took them off. -
Tri-Mode Running Boards Blackout
camcamaro1991 replied to StayInYourLayne's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Why on earth would your remove the best designed & functional power running boards on the market today? I have used mine so many times cant image a truck without them, from cleaning the roof, clay bar my windshield to getting into my truck from the side in my garage, no room front or back when the garage door is closed. To knocking off rocks and dirt off my shoes before jumping to my truck, lastly... huge pet-peeve of mine, helps reduce people from sidling out of my seats it forces them to put a leg out and step down vs just slip and slide out of my truck with not steps, the factory NON-power steps are too close to the truck to be of any good use. if dont want them deployed just turn them off. Just get a nice vinyl wrap, it hold up for a long time. I hope you got PPF, if not do it soon or you will regret it. -
Rosco... yes its basically its a retrofit for the models that did not support Qi but still offered wireless charging, never the less I bet its easy to add never the less, I believe there are many that have added wireless charging on the 2014/2015 models.

FYI, GM made a retro-fit kit for the older vehicles that didn't not originally include the Qi charging. made available May 9, 2018. GM# 84526978 includes the new charger and wiring harness.
