  1. You are 100% correct. I did alot of research on this and the tire put on at the factory is not the same tire you get at the tire store even though its the same exact brand and make.
  2. Ok, you didn't approve them to remove anything from your truck, did you tell them of the aftermarket software up front? They reflashed software to try and fix your issue how are they to know you had aftermarket software? I guarantee if you told them of the aftermarket software they would have sent you on your way and refused to fix. ITS NOT GM OR THE DEALERS FAULT.
  3. Looks like there was ice there and someone was beating the ice to break it up with a broom handle or similar.
  4. You're not even on the same page, its factory software NOT parts.
  5. I don't see how any of this is the dealer or GM's fault, you bought an aftermarket accessory that is not related or owned by GM and your upset that GM did a software update and its gone. You need to go after MVI not GM or the dealer. It would be the same thing of installing a tune and you take the truck in for an update and it got wiped out. Chances are that even if GM did update it chances are that it might not work due to software updates by MVI may be different than what GM uses and why should GM pay for an update and it is not their equipment, its aftermarket.
  6. If you bought it used the truck could have had a front plate mount from a state that requires them that wasn't for the truck and they made it fit, you might have the right part for the truck
  7. How is that a lawsuit waiting to happen? He puts it on noticed it blocks the low beam he continues to drive and hits something and it's the company's fault, really? Say someone puts headlight tint on their headlights its cuts down the light output and they hit something so you're saying to sue the tint company? Thats some funny stuff right there, sue sue sue that all people want to do nowadays.
  8. Hope this helps 22_CHEV_Silverado_2500_3500_HD_OM_en_US_U_84767841B_2021OCT04_2P.pdf (chevrolet.com) page 145 when I had my 2015 2500 HD the wiring was in the overhead console and my push button switch was on the dash
  9. So basically you hook up the strip with a fuse bigger or the same amps? Could have pulled to much current threw the port If you did you could have fried the BCM or the panel itself. We need more info here. Fuses blow if there is a short or if too much current they will heat up and pop. Does everything else in the truck work? Did you check the fuse panel in the passenger side dash same spot the driverside panel is located you also have fuse boxes under the hood I would check with a meter and see if you still have power to the fuse port, if you still have power to the port then you fried the panel.
  10. No it also applies to the T1 built in 2018 till something like March of 2019 for the fluid exchange. I had mine done in like August of 2019 for the shutter and it's been fine since mine was built in November of 2018.
  11. I have had this on and off also lagging really bad but my fans don't kick in. This site has had issues for some time took me 3 times to log in kept saying "opps something went wrong" I just know this site is bombarded with ads now, ad blocker plus does help but it can be a pain using for other sties.
  12. If it were me, I would buy it out, you're not going to find a nice truck being 15-20 years old for that much money you come out ahead keep in mind used car/truck prices are off the hook right now and if you get an old truck, you will be kicking yourself in the ass because whatever you get will not compare to the TB. If he is giving you 47k he will put it on the lot for about north of 50k at least, keep it you will regret it down grading to an old truck.
  13. In that spot there is a vinyl protective sheet there you can feal it with your finger, mine will do the same thing but I just hit it with carnauba wax twice a tear and never had a problem with it hazing over.
  14. Iam with ya on that, I had a 87 with 10" suspension 3" body lift running 38" Ground Hawgs that thing sounded like a B-52 bomber coming down the road then I went to 42" Super Swampers which were alot quieter then the Hawgs.
  15. No way in hell I would put that lift on my truck, 3.5 lift with no front diff drop I could only imagine what those CV axle angles would be.
  16. Just because your truck was built 8/21 doesn't mean the motor was built the same time, your motor could have been built in the bad run of lifters time frame and was sitting in stock till it was sent to the factory which it probably sat there also. Truck build date means nothing you have to look for the build date of the motor not the truck.
  17. Front suspension will not hold the weight and the Allison tranny is bigger probably won't fit in the transmission tunnel rear diff won't handle the power and torque.
  18. Very very true I dumped my flip phone several years ago because the battery wouldn't hold a charge that long and couldn't get a battery for it (special order) phone fit in my pocket nice, all my friends would make fun of me because I still had an old flip phone then when I HAD to upgrade to a smart phone, they damn near passed out, but I keep my phones till they just die.
  19. I think those cars will be disposable vehicles as it gets to its end-of-life nobody will sink that money to replace the battery as the battery will cost more than the vehicle is worth.
  20. I saw the article about gas vs electric and price per mile gas is cheaper plus time spent waiting for the charge. No matter where you go you have to pay to recharge, at home you have to have a charger installed which cost money for the charger and install and don't forget your home electric bill goes up. What happens when these vehicles hit the used car market and 6-8 years old car on the lot who is going to buy them the battery alone will have to be replaced as they have a limited life and the cost to replace is anywhere from $4000 to 15,000 and loses 30-40 percent capacity after about 6 years worse in cold climates.
  21. Not if he bought it off a private owner and made his own repairs. If it was a insurance claim and they totaled due to flood damage then yes a salvage title. Look at the black plastic back panel with the sticker looks fairly new also the wires and connectors look new. I hope he got a real good deal on it with that being an 2004 it was the LB7 Duramax which had alot of injector issues and big money to replace as the injectors were internal the LLY Duramax had external injectors which I had that came out as a 2004.5
  22. That looks like a flood vehicle with all that rust not normal at all.
  23. I was reading online today that this guy was a GM mechanic an GM is now saying the lifter failure may be the cause of the auto/start stop system that when the motor stops oil is going back into the crank and on restart the oil has to pumped back up again for lubrication. Don't ask where I found it because I know ill never be able to find the page again, kind of make some since. Without the chip it also disables DFM along with start/stop.
  24. They didn't discontinue DFM due to this failure it was discontinued due to no chips to activate the DFM the motor still has all the components in the motor for DFM it just won't engage due to no chip.
