I'll stand by a 100% success rate using the bulletin. Seems to me you should find another dealer. And maybe some quaaludes. For the record, you can't lol your way out of calling someone a douche.
-
Hats off to your inginuety but you guys are making this much more complicated than it needs to be. Take to the dealer and let them fix it. I have done about 10 of these and not one customer has come back bitchin'. Takes about an hour. You might even wait till the '16s come out and check them out while yours is being fixed.

How on earth did they not have knowledge of this old bulletin before?

2014 LT's with the 18" wheel option came with Goodyear Assurance tires. The upgrade was $200 for SRA's and additional $150 for outline white letter.

I can help some, or maybe make it worse. Davenport Wood Grand Momiji Spalted Quilted Maple Are all Chevrolet Trims Curly Koa Mineral Caster Grand Lace Wood Are all GMC trims Also not sure all 3 of each are woodgrain. There are other trims but they are obviously not woodgrain I think LTZ is one woodgrain and High Country is another.

I believe the 18" upgrade tires on chevys is the bridgstone dueller. But not on z71. Go figure.
-
Why on earth would they have to punch holes in the steering wheel? They have already had the air bag and wheel off. The air bag is released from the rear of the wheel. Find another dealer.

Tried that. No sucess. Seems like it should work but it doesn't and I guess I don't care.

Silverado Headlight Relay Location
tbarn replied to iCryWheniGoPoop's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Allow me to rephrase it Low beams are powered by bcm directly. Rely is High beam only. The headlamps may be turned ON in 3 different ways: •When the headlamp switch is placed in the ON position, for normal operation •When the headlamp switch is placed in the AUTO position, for automatic lamp control •When the headlamp switch is placed in the AUTO position, with the windshield wipers ON in daylight conditions, after a 6 second delay The BCM will also command the low beam headlamps ON during daylight conditions when the following conditions are met: •Headlamp switch in the AUTO position •Windshield wipers ON •Vehicle in any gear but PARK When the BCM commands the low beam headlamps ON, the vehicle operator will notice the interior backlighting for the instrument cluster and the various switches with backlighting control will dim to the level of brightness selected by the instrument panel dimmer switch. The body control module (BCM) monitors three signal circuits from the headlamp switch. When the headlamp switch is in the AUTO position, all three signal circuits are open. When placed in the AUTO position, the BCM monitors inputs from the ambient light sensor to determine if headlamps are required or if daytime running lamps will be activated based on outside lighting conditions. When the headlamp switch is placed in the OFF position, the headlamp switch headlamps OFF signal circuit is grounded, indicating to the BCM that the exterior lamps should be turned OFF. With the headlamp switch in the PARK position, the headlamp switch park lamps ON signal circuit is grounded, indicating that the park lamps have been requested. When the headlamp switch is placed in the HEADLAMP position, both the headlamp switch park lamps ON signal circuit and the headlamp switch headlamps ON signal circuit are grounded. The BCM responds to the inputs by illuminating the park lamps and headlamps. When the low beam headlamps are requested, the BCM applies B+ to both low beam headlamp control circuits illuminating the low beam headlamp Grounds to the frame near front body mount. Right and left respectivly. -

Low beams are wired direct from bcm. High beam control relay is in the underhood fuse box which are "non-serviceable Printed Circuit Board (PCB) relays and are internal to the block". -
3 main bolts on each side are 122 lb ft. Nuts at front are 52 lb ft. As per GM Service Info.

OR, TO PUT IN OFFICIAL TERMS, #PIT5233B: Normal Characteristic - Hard Or Unable To Rotate Ignition Key From The Off Position - (Mar 2, 2015) Subject: Normal Characteristic - Hard Or Unable To Rotate Ignition Key From The Off Position Models: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 2015 GMC Canyon, Sierra, Yukon Models Without Keyless Start (RPO BTM) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This PI was superseded to update Models. Please discard PIT5233A. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern A steering column lock has been incorporated into the ignition key housing assembly as standard equipment. If the steering wheel is turned with the ignition key in the off position, this may cause excessive pressure between the lock plate and lock pin. The next time the ignition key is rotated from the "Off" to the "On" position, it may be difficult or unable to be rotated. Recommendation/Instructions The steering wheel will need to be rotated in either direction (depending on how the locking pin engaged to the locking plate) to alleviate the pressure between the steering column lock pin and lock plate. This will allow the ignition key to rotate from the "Off" position. The ignition key may need to be rotated at the same time the steering wheel is being rotated. Customer Information Please communicate to the customer this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle. It will not impact the designed performance or reliability of the vehicle. Please share this information with the customer, including a copy of this message.

USB ports in center console unresponsive/dead?
tbarn replied to Rams01's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
How on earth can you not fix a USB port? Port/cable/HMI module/power/ground. only 4 possibilities. Not sayin' its fast or easy but it ain't rocket science. -
PI1354A is not a TSB. Won't see it anywhere but GM service info system unless someone with a copy or access to GM info posts it. It is "preliminary information"

OEM trailer brake controller and wiring
tbarn replied to Saldog's topic in Modifications & Accessories
If I understand you correctly, it cannot be done. Subject: Adding Integrated Trailer Brake Controller RPO JL1 Models: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 2015 GMC Sierra, Yukon Models This PI was superseded to update Note section. Please discard PIT5241A. Some customers may request the factory Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (RPO JL1) be installed on their Full-Size Pickup or SUV when the vehicle was not ordered with the option. This is to advise you that - if the vehicle does not have the option (RPO JL1), it cannot be added to the vehicle. -
P0446 - Purge or Vent Solenoids Defective
tbarn replied to nvrnuf4me's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
Kinda on the wrong track. This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a restricted or blocked EVAP vent path that would cause excess amounts of vacuum to be developed in the EVAP system. The engine control module (ECM) commands the EVAP purge solenoid valve Open and the EVAP vent solenoid valve Closed. This allows vacuum to be applied to the EVAP system. Once a calibrated vacuum level has been reached, the ECM commands the EVAP purge solenoid valve Closed and the EVAP vent solenoid valve Open. The ECM monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor for a decrease in vacuum. If the vacuum does not decrease to near 0 in H2O in a calibrated time, this DTC sets. Most likely plugged vent solenoid given where you drive. -
PI1345B (partial) Document the before and after Road Force Variation (RFV) numbers on the vibration worksheet located at the end of this bulletin. Road Force Specifications P-Metric tires on passenger cars 15 lbs (6.8 kg) or less P-Metric tires on light trucks 15 lbs (6.8 kg) or less LT - tires on light trucks 15 lbs (6.8 kg) or less Note: These numbers are lower than what is currently published in service information as some vehicles react to parts that are near the high limit. These numbers SHOULD NOT be used if you do not have a tire speed related disturbance. Repair: For any assembly that has an out of balance condition (greater than 0.25 oz), remove the weights and correct the condition utilizing normal balancing techniques. For any assembly having RFV measurements beyond the specification above, vectoring the tire on the rim should be utilized prior to tire replacement. If this does not bring the assembly within specification, the tire should be replaced.

Looks like you need more tires. Spec for 14/15 Silverado/Sierra is 14 or 15. I'll have to look at the tsb again.
