  1. Awesome, thanks for the info.
  2. My next project is to replace my Serpentine, ac compressor, and vacuum pump belts and the Serpentine belt tensioner. I ordered AcDelco belts, tensioner, and installation tool from Rock Auto. Does the serpentine belt tensioner need to be adjusted after replacement?
  3. Well the plugs from rock auto arrived today. I have 3 with one etched number and 5 with another. Probably some sort of manufacture date or location. They are all the same part number, and appear to be authentic in my opinion.
  4. Shipping is 5.99 for a total of $50.87 for the 8 plugs from Rock Auto. On Amazon they are $9 to $10 with free shipping. A decent savings if Rock Autos are authentic.
  5. I haven't priced them at a dealer. I'd think that they would be much higher than anywhere else. But like you said, they would be the real deal.
  6. I'm at 110K miles on my 2014 Sierra Denali 5.3. My next project will be replacing the spark plugs. Does anyone know if Rock Auto gets their AC Delco plugs from a reputable source. They are the $5.72 each compared to Advanced auto Parts' $8.99. These are both part # 41-114. As of now, I'm not planning on replacing the wires.
  7. Well my first round with my transmission is complete. I was only able to get a couple quarts out of the dip stick with the hand pump. Not sure if it was a faulty pump or operator error, but sure got a good workout from all the pumping. I may try an electric pump next time. I also have minor concerns that the dip stick tube shaves off some of the poly tubing which could be harmful to the tranny. I was able to get my pan off rather easily by using the 2x4 and ratchet strap method. I was surprised that many of the bolts holding my pan on were barely more than hand tight. I wasn't able to find an AC Delco filter at my local part store, so I settled for a Duralast. With the exception of the part numbers on the filters, they were identical. I feel like they came from the same machine/factory. I opted to leave the original filter gasket in place as my new filter snapped in snugly. I replaced about 5.5 quarts after the job was done. I'd like to do several "drain and fills" over the next several thousand miles in order to "turn over" the transmission's fluid so that it will be mostly new fluid.
  8. I ordered and received two Gallons of AC Delco from Amazon. I picked up a Penzoil pump and poly tubing like you have from my local Home Depot. I haven't gotten a transmission filter yet. I may actually just pump and refill a gallon without tackling the filter just yet. Were you able to clean the pan and magnet without removing the pan completely out from the exhaust pipe? I'll check out Rock Auto next time I order more transmission fluid.
  9. That's a great idea. What kind of transmission fluid are you using? How difficult was it for you to pull the pan and replace the filter?
  10. I done mine myself back in the summer with ease. However, it's more like a 2 to 3 hour job.
  11. I have a 2014 Sierra Denali 4x4 5.3 6 spd that I bought new. I have about 108K trouble free miles with the exception of the AC Condenser that I fixed myself for about $200. I have also changed the gear oil in both differentials and the transfer case. I had the rear brakes replaced by the dealer. I do my own oil and filter changes with Mobil 1 Annual protection and Mobil 1 filters. Although I never haul or tow with the truck, I'd like to service my transmission, preferably myself. I have seen videos where people jack up the back on the tranny and winch the exhaust down with ratchet straps in order to get the pan off. Has anyone tried this or has anyone had their dealer perform this with good results, as I'm not totally opposed to having a dealership do it? Another issue that I'm having is my forward collision detection is acting up. My seat use to vibrate and the red light flash in the windshield. Now I get a loud beep instead of the vibration. Has anyone encountered this problem and fixed it themselves? Yet another weird phenomenon that I'm facing is my seat belt chime. Even with it set on the quietest chime. it often time chimes as loud as it possibly can. I mentioned it to my dealer once and they didn't make an effort to fix it when they put new rear breaks on the truck. What other preventive maintenance jobs have you guys performed on your trucks and when? Maybe Coolant flushes and spark plugs?
  12. I'm planning to change both of my differentials and my transfer case fluids soon. My truck is a 2014 5.3 Denali with 73 K miles. Should I be concerned swapping to synthetics with this many miles. I've heard that gaskets are more prone to leak after going from dino oil to synthetics on vehicles with higher miles. Any advice on oil types and brands would be appreciated as well.

  15. Does anyone know the bulbs part #? My local dealer ordered some for me, but has stood me up on doing the fix. Hoping I can buy the bulbs and have the dealer that I bought the truck from install them. They said they would reimburse me if my local dealer will sell them to me. However, I want to be certain they ordered the right part number.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I went to a local dealer (not where I purchased my truck). They haven't heard of the TSB but looked it up and ordered new bulbs. My 11th Digit is a G and I bought my truck last June. Hopefully I can get the 4x4 recall and my GPS fixed at the same time. I've only had my headlights fog up once, but I might get that addressed as well. 17. My headlights are terrible. I can't wait for the TSB to come out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I've got to drive my denali at night this coming weekend, I sure do dread it. If a deer runs out in the road, I'll likely hit it at about the same time that I see it.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The lack of headlights on my 2014 Denali are my #1 complaint with this $50K truck. I have leveling kit, but I can't see this being a problem. My 2013 Rapor and 2001 Tundra also were level with no problems with good headlights. When I get my first oil change, I plan to have a serious discussion with the service manager and anyone else who will listen. I plan to carry plenty of proof that this is a widespread complaint. These headlights are terrible at night, and competely DANGEROUS at night when it's raining. This is rediculous!
  20. Thanks buddy... That was quick.
  21. I would like to see a poll on this forum for members to see how many have the vibration compared to those who dont.
