  1. Out here it amazes me how many think it's 15 over the PSL is okay. I usually run 4-5 over the PSL on interstates and highways and haven't had any issues even when approaching LEO's. In and around town I'm at PSL or within 1-2. In the many small towns here in TX I maintain the PSL.
  2. I had a neighbor that was a commercial carpet sales representative that had a company issued Silver Ford Crown Vic that he traveled all over NC in. His windows were tinted and he mounted an antenna on the trunk. He said he loved to set his cruise about 3 over the speed limit and ride the right lane. Cars would pile up behind him being afraid to pass him for fear of him being an LEO. He said even LEO's would wave at him when passing. I got a kick out of him telling me the story. May he RIP. I live in TX now and the left lanes are clearly marked "Left lane for passing only". Most comply but yet there are still morons that do not heed the sign.
  3. When my father-in-law's dementia started getting increasingly worse and shortly before his death, he wanted to start giving his hard earned money to people in the grocery store line, etc. I tried explaining to him that people will take him for granted if he allows them to do so. I told him many unfortunate people just can't get a break no matter how hard they try. Others though, are in their current bad situation due to poor judgement/decisions that they've made through the years. I don't helping a man that is down. I do not want to help a man that is too lazy to help himself.
  4. I'm glad to see Texas drop the inspection (not the fee though). It was annoying taking one of my cars to get inspected every other month or so. Now if we could just get rid of the front license plate requirement...
  5. Cash vs. Card or Rewards discounts...
  6. Happy New Year Everyone! I'm not sure if I'll be up that late tonight.
  7. Either way it looks good! I grew up in an auto repair and refinish (a.k.a. body shop). I wouldn't go so far as to say paint chips lie, but they are a general representation and subject to variations.
  8. I received mine last week... I think it sucks for the 15 year/150k mile coverage. FWIW, I got one on my Escalade for the airbag and waited several years for the parts to become available. We'll see...
  9. I ordered this one last Saturday, it shipped from NJ and arrived today in TX. Installation took less than 10 minutes. It was well packaged, included all of the necessary hardware and appeared to be new and not previously installed. I have the Retrax MX Pro retractable tonneau cover and the railing partially covers the stake pocket so this makes getting in and out much safer and easier as well as reducing the risk of breaking a finger or two if I was to loose my balance with my fingers in the stake pocket when climbing in or out.
  10. I had a rental GMC Sierra this week and it had one. I liked it so I may look for a decent deal on one bought one on eBay for $97 shipped. My truck has the threaded hole. FWIW, for those that don't have the one threaded hole, I don't see why a Rivnut/Nutsert wouldn;t work. Has anyone tried that?
  11. Agreed... I would go to the dealer.
  12. I don't have one but would find it beneficial as I get older.
  13. I just received notification of this today and looked it up. It states "Recall Status- Remedy Not Identified"
  14. 7 amps at 120V would be 840 watts wouldn't it. More than double the 400W output.
  15. Have you connected a clean 12v source to each of the trailer plug pins to check each light circuit on the trailer itself to verify the issue is not with the trailer?
  16. I'm not sure of the composition of todays catalytic converters but in the old days the rotten egg smell was an inidcation it/they are failing/clogging up.
  17. I'm not necessarily in agreement with the practice, but my former employer of over 35 years replaced hundreds of trucks at 100,000-120,000 miles every year. The first and each oil change afterward was at first 5,000 miles and they eventually went to 7,500 miles and have got great service out of them. They did multiple studies with oils and filters by analysis. They even tried Baldwin filters and decided to go back to WIX. I quit buying new auto's some years back and buy a 1 to 3 year old now. However, I would probably change at 1,000 and again at 4,000 and then every 5,000 so it's easier to keep up with by the odometer.
  18. As long as your creeping in you can also use a heavy wheel chock like the semi's use. Get the truck where you want it, place the clock at the wheel and make an outline of the chock with a marker in case you kick by accident and can put it back where it should be. If you're within inches of the garage door you cut a piece of foam pipe insulation in half and place it over the ribs of the garage door so that if it hits you have some protection factor for the finish. When spaces are extremely tight "it's not a matter of if, but when". Sooner or later it will happen so have some additional mitigation strategies.
  19. I had to replace a FOB on my '21 (luckily under warranty) they had to program and I think it was about $400. So it is a GM trick and explains why a dealer needs to program it. Sounds like a trick that Harley-Davidson would pull.
  20. I use these parking mats to put me in the same place every time.
  21. I have to check to see if my '21 has that but never noticed it. I had a couple of Yukon's that had a slot for the soft pack Kleenex's and kept some in there all of the time. You might try that. It's like the little tabs on sun visors of most vehicles. Some say for CC's but can't see that as it would eventually bend the card or it would fall out into the floor when you lowered the visor. I had a couple of Yukon's that had a slot for the soft pack Kleenex's and kept some in there all of the time.
  22. I bought and installed them in my 2015. When I sold it I removed them and put them in my 2021. They are quite handy.
  23. A manufacture dealership that has a good reputation and not a "Buy Here-Pay Here" car lot.
  24. I understand to each his own but I find that my HD2500 is much more comfortable for long rides than the F250 company truck that I had for a while.
