What did you just install? No aftermarket radio will use the trucks wifi. Aa and carplay are used through your cellphone Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
On mine i have the 6 pin connector Red 12v + Yellow video + (inside of rca) White reverse + Brown shield Black (middle) rca - (rca outside ) Black ground To make camera stay on cut white wire going to camera and splice it to the red. Out of connector tape off white wire. On my pioneer radio this allows me to see camera while not in reverse I replaced the factory camera with a better one using a spare molex connector. Wired the new camera to 12v and ground. Then took the yellow and spliced it to the rca i made. Other end of rca i connected to brown and black that would be rca-. I just ordered another camera that is 800tvl, the one i originally ordered wont work in handle but here is the pics of the 2 cameras. 1st one is stock, no lines cause my radio doesn't supply it 2nd 1 is new camera with built in lines. Sorry for the glare. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I ordered a camera from ebay. Wired it up to the molex plug. Quality is better than stock but nothing like my friends ram. Gonna order a hd camera and see if its better than the ebay camera. Stock has no lines because of aftermarket radio. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
These radios are garbage. Gm's feeble attempt and something gd. Imo, they dropped the ball. The radio gets a glitch and locks up, had it happen a couple times. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Yes, got rid of the factory radio. I went with pioneer avic8400nex. And use all of the features. Everything i needed for upgrade came to just over 900. I have a high country 2500. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I just did gears, 4:88 new carrier and all the goodies. I tow heavy and 4:10 didnt cut it. Truck feels more responsive, not as heavy. I would stick with the 4:10, more gear mean motor n trans work less. Especilly when towing.
Just picked the truck up from the shop. With the new 4:88 she feels better. Doest take a lot to get this 7700lb pig to move. Curious to see what my mpg goes to. Waiting for updated tune for new gears. So at 70mph which i think is 60 i spin under 2k and dic mpg shows 15 16 when i would normally see 12 13. Total cost 3600 for 4wd Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I changed my radio and ditched the bose amp. Used a amp bypass harness to 1 4ch amp for speakers and 1 amp for subs. Sooooooo much better Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Nice, i drove 6.5 hrs 1 way to get my 2500. Would do it again for the right deal. Left 2am got to dealer out the door by 10am on my way back home. Worth it Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I never run more than 65mph. Gas mileage tanks. Its usually around 2300 i think. When i was towing 14.5k lbs 60mph rpm was around 2200 after reading a lot i might consider 4:88. Very rarely am i on the highway with the truck. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Right now considering my options. I was, but with what the prices are going for i cant afford to do it. They want 55k for a 70k mile truck and want to give me 34k for my 60k mile truck. I have 3 yrs left on payments. Cant afford to do another loan for 6 more years. If i see one at a good price and the numbers work then sure, but for now i have 5 months to keep looking. If i dont find anything then i will do the gear swap. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Truck weighs 7700 lbs, after a lot of reading im now leaning towards 4:88. Think rmp difference from where i am now is 400 rpms Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I started out with a 10k lb bumper pull. Fam of 5.... 3 women needed a half bath. So upgraded to 5th wheel. Sucks, now have to upgrade truck again lol. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
My intentions were to keep her. But the hills have me concerned. If the gear swap wasnt so much i would try that first. But 3600 is a big nut to swallow. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
