  1. I hope it is made here, and MVP is not just importing cheap speed parts from Asia.. i'm tired or seeing those cheapo headers killing local speed shop manufactuers. its a sin to buy stuff like this durring these times!
  2. stop supporting CHINA, your bringing in commie parts into our country! . 3" is probably too large for the little 5.3 anyways. your gonna loose torque
  3. where do i find this fast learn procedure feature in HPT
  4. i wonder how critical air temp is with DI motor? yes its a little less dense entering the cylinder , buti wonder how hot you can have the air intake before its really an issue? i would focus more on trans tuning and Torque Managemnt , and getting the throttle to 100% open first, then work on cooling engine and trans..then start fixing the AFR and last timing adjustments
  5. i got the sprint booster, but never use it anymore. it did cause a engine light code for a ground short of some kind , so i took it out. i prefer stock settings for the street but drive in 3rd or 4th gear on the street it feels good enough
  6. stock is best ...if you take out the restrictor panel that will outflow your heads, problem is the throttle is limited to 80% wot
  7. we're already in 1st stages of marshal law...lol
  8. go back to using CB's
  9. i already cut the wire to the mic on my onstar trucks. the GPS antenna is next after my warrantee is up
  10. i'll check it out on hpt scanner, i was logging with a the Torque App. i'll just do a visual confirmation to check this is true
  11. the Media is owned by a handful of COrporate owned conglomerates and Foreign countries, who All have Agendas of their own! Truth is not something they are interested in.. thus why all news is FAKE NEWS!
  12. yes the old Yellow bottle is all I used in my 1990 Suburban, had it for 24 years, that old pig never failed me, over 280K miles on old technology. never touched the motor , and sold it in fine running condition. all my current GM products all use the RedLine 5-30w synthetic stuff for obvious reasons.
  13. transfer case has its own clutch pack, you might have overheated it,. if so it will just slip in 4x4 mode, its easier to fix than a trans rebuild
  14. why bother with the CAI, , if your throttle TPS is only opening 80% , you wont feel any gains.. anyone else wonder why this is???? anyone know where in HPT software to go, for undoing the throttle limit? is this what is meant by our 5.3L motors are handicapped? should i install a 6.2 truck ecu file first if this is possible?
  15. 1. flush it, and new filter and inspect for metal glitter 2. nope 3. yes, remove the trans t-stat immediatly 4. my trans operates at 124F on the highway. buts its modded, stat delete will give ya 145 F operating temp. 5. youtube it. i use a 3/8 poly hose jammed into the trans cooler , run into a bucket, have helper tell you when fuid stops squirting out, shut off engine, refill. i would use 3- gallons worth for a flush
  16. i would say you have a dying battery ...use your scan tool to data log the battery , with everything on , hot and load the steering full lock. you can also drive the truck for 10 minutes in tow haul mode this increases the charge rate voltage to the battery from the Alt. you next xmas present https://www.mechman.com/alternators/cadillac/escalade/6-2l/2014-2018/high-output-370-amp-black-billet-alternator-for-14-18-gm-silverado-sierra-suburban-tahoe-escalade/ is your idle at 500rpm or lower? i get light surging sometimes but no stalling, my 6.0 and 5.3 trucks are at 500 rpm , i feel this is a bit too low, should be 650rpm 750 with all lights on and AC and steeering wheel full lock, , might have to get a tuner to bump this up .
  17. i 'm not familiar with 2012 5.3L i think your is inside the plastic manifold , a tube is not a pcv, you got one somewhere i do have the 6.0 2012 truck, i'm curious as to where that pcv is.. i'll have a look around, but i dont have oil consumption issues. on either my 6.0 or 5.3 trucks.
  18. pcv location differs from engine , nothing is in the place you think it would be. some are in the manifold on 5.3 , or the engine valley area, the v6 is in a another spot. the 6.2 isn't in the same place as the 5.3, i think its in the valley , i would be curious to find out if GM has a redesigned pcv or new part number for the 2020 trucks pcv vs our K2 trucks? might want to order a T1 pcv just to compare,
  19. i'm willing to bet the reason you catch can guys get more oil in freezing winter months is due to PCV internal valve is frozen in a position that its not doing its job correctly and bypassing vapor full flow without checking the flow
  20. get a tuner to modify the cooling fan temp window, remove thermostat in trans
  21. i run 30-32 psi on stock 18", everyone thinks its too low. but after driving on the highway they pump themselves up to 35 psi due to natrual heating from driving.
  22. also should be noted these engines run at high temperatures, and the pistons are high compression, so if your not using full synthetic like Amsoil or Redline oil, you potentially varnish and sludge up the rings and ring land areas on the pistons. causing poor oil sealing and blow by which might be contributing to the high volume of oil being captured in the catch cans. Definatly replace your PCV's as this is cheap part, they could have weak springs or gunked up with junk thats letting excessive vapor bypas into the cans there could be a deisgn flaw in the oem PCV, if thats the case, I would gut the factory PCV from the manifold , and run over to autozone and pick up aftermarket PCV for an older 90's truck, something that has hose fittings on both ends, splice this after the factory pcv port and run for a few months
  23. start another thread on this when you begin.
  24. what is it? i will be impressed with your skills if you pull off a big segment swap..
