  1. Safe and puddle lamps sold.
  2. New truck is here so I took these parts off. Roto-Fab intake for 2019+ Silverado and Sierra with the 6.2L engine. 100% complete and ready to use save for the foam tape they supply you for the factory lower air scoop (obviously not reusable). One bracket was a little rusty so I touched it up. Filter has about 13k miles on it, doesn’t appear to need a cleaning any time soon. REDUCED $275 shipped in the lower 48. Boxed up and ready to go! Kicker sub SOLD. A number of potential buyers never got back to me on this. So it’s available again (to anyone who hasn’t already said they would take it and didn’t!).…GM / Kicker 19417164 subwoofer kit. Fits 2019+ Silverado & Sierra double cab and crew cab. Was installed new in April of 2020 and removed earlier this month. Complete with bass knob, manual and all wiring, even the original taps for the speaker wires. I used it with the Bose system and it made a HUGE difference. Bet it would make an even bigger difference on a non-Bose truck. SOLD! Everything is in good working order. PM me and I will send you a PayPal invoice with buyer and seller protection. Feel free to review my 7000+ feedback on eBay, I ship fast and don’t screw people around. https://www.ebay.com/usr/onthereel
  3. The gear ratio is the same but non max-trailering 5.3 trucks have a 9.5” ring gear, and all the 6.2 trucks have the beefier 9.76”.
  4. Whatever you do, do not pay the dealer money to follow the TSB and just caulk the frame. That is a mess and a total waste of time long term.
  5. If you’ve bought a bunch of trucks from the same dealer, they are the ones who should open the pocketbook a bit to keep ya around. Kinda how I worked my latest deal under tight inventory. Figure you’re a very small number to GM. At least to a dealer you’re a measurable percentage of their sales.
  6. Who is screaming? Lol. Just making conversation about yet another ninny feature that nobody but GM corporate wants. Ford and Ram let you turn the seatbelt chime off completely, but GM refuses to let the vehicle move without being buckled up. And better not have a bunch of groceries or boxes or a pet on the passenger seat. Gotta buckle all that up too for 2023. Absurd.
  7. If it's defeat-able like that, no biggie. The article makes it sound as though it's above and beyond the teen driver mode feature and you're stuck with it in any mode. I hope they wouldn't be so stupid, but I won't be surprised either way.
  8. https://www.gm-trucks.com/2022-silverado-sierra-buckle-to-drive/?fbclid=IwAR3hIYURrXcoLKXodu5DfjA17yUQdBz-Q4O3T7YjZkW7IbKdrmWrv0mQH44 You’ll soon have to buckle up to hitch up a trailer, drive around a job site, or even to just to move the thing around on your property. Nothing against seatbelts obviously but this is idiotic to put on a truck that people use for work.
  9. GM and Ford each manufacture their own version in their own plants. The collaboration ended with the design phase which Ford took the lead on. But generally speaking GM is handling all these supply chain issues the worst of the bunch. If it wasn’t for mismanagement they wouldn’t have any management at all.
  10. Well, I don’t think anyone would disagree that the V1 is the best performing of that bunch. But to be fair it’s more expensive and harder to get at this point (usually backordered for weeks). It also doesn’t have built-in GPS so you will want to link it to your phone via an app like V1 Driver so you get the most from it. It’s not hard to do, the app connects once via BT, and then runs automatically in the background every time you turn the detector on. But still, some don’t like the idea of needing your phone for the best experience. The R3 and Escort are solid performers and do have GPS, but don’t have the arrows telling you where you’re getting hit from like the V1 and other higher end detectors. Based on features and price the Cobra DualPro 360 is probably the best overall value. It is basically a rebadged Escort Max 360 with slight changes and a much lower price. It does pretty well in testing by people far dorkier than me. Plus it has both GPS and the directional arrows which are pretty helpful. It’s not a long range legend like the V1, but still more than good enough for most situations. And a good starter detector I think.
  11. I can name plenty of scenarios in which seatbelts, life jackets and parachutes don’t save us too, but that doesn’t mean we don’t wear them. The small towns I frequent like Chicago and Milwaukee still primarily use Ka. Laser is nowhere near as ubiquitous as you make it sound. And instant-on radar (not laser) is still easily picked up with time to react when the officer is shooting cars ahead of you. Also, modern radar detectors do very well filtering BSM. GPS lockouts and low speed muting also work wonders to keep things quiet when not needed. You might be surprised. I use the V1 Driver app with mine and the thing never ever falses. Never. And I pick up sheriff speed traps on the highway from a huge distance and again plenty of time to react.
  12. Escort actually makes Cobra, and they do sell a good detector under the Cobra brand, the DualPro 360. Unfortunately the Road Scout is not so good. Vortex Radar does a lot of testing on YouTube and you can learn more than you’ll ever need to know about detectors if you watch even just his beginner guides. He is not a fan of the Road Scout so I would avoid it for that reason alone. https://www.vortexradar.com/2021/05/cobra-road-scout-review/ Personally, I have the V1 Gen 2 right now. Before that I had the Escort Max 3. Both worked very well. Depends on what you want to spend I guess. Every detector has it’s strengths and weaknesses.
  13. Eh, it’ll only downshift if/when the computer deems safe. It won’t blow itself to bits like the dummy who flat towed his Jeep in 4L.
  14. Need to drop the column shifter down to "low", they don't work in drive. Once there you'll get a readout on the DIC with current gear position. It's effectively a gear limit switch, won't go higher than what you select. It will also downshift one gear when you first shift to low and downshift more if you hit "-" and engine speed is safe to do so.
  15. Definitely no consensus on anything here. Buy once cry once is my opinion. GM Performance or Borla cat back. 304 stainless, will last the life of the truck and no drone. Plenty are happy spending a few bucks on a muffler delete instead but I hate drone and hate rust so that was never an option for me.
  16. Again, email [email protected] They send it almost right away in a nice easy to read and print PDF form rather than in a forum post.
  17. It’s cheaper because it’s 409 stainless and all the other catbacks are 304. If you live in the salt I would reconsider. Even if you don’t live in the salt, be aware that the Gibson is gonna look pretty crusty right away.
  18. Put the trans in low, and manually click the (+) on the shifter until it’s in “L9” (indicated on the DIC). It will shift normally and automatically, but 10th gear will be locked out and and DFM will not be active in any gear. Probably a moot point because DFM is not active at idle / in park. I’ve read some things suggesting it’s the cat and that makes sense because mine doesn’t squeak once warmed up. Nothing to really worry about.
  19. I personally haven’t done this because I don’t want to deal with the hacked ECM exchange, and no powertrain warranty all for a few ponies. Just not a good risk / reward for the price. Think most of us probably feel the same since these trucks have had their issues already. If you do go for it, you might as well go all the way and do supporting mods.
  20. Definitely wasn’t lumping you into that group. I have a couple vehicles in my stable, but my truck gets most of the action by far. Because it does everything well. It’s comfortable, quick when you want it to be, and still quiet when you aren’t pushing it. l. I use it for both work and play. Yes, I use it like a truck too. Lots of towing miles every year.
  21. Why not have one vehicle that can do everything, including being fun to drive? Especially if you live where the roads are crap many months out of the year. Isn’t it strange how few new posts are coming up these days? Pretty soon you arrogant internet grandpas will only have yourselves to talk to. Everyone else is tired of hearing it.
  22. The GMPP exhaust accounts for 13 of the 15 hp in the performance package. The flappers are a serious bottleneck in the stock system. Knowing that, I did that exhaust right away, and then added the Roto-Fab intake. Cleaned up the engine bay, sounds good, and consistently reduced my 0-60 times ~2 tenths measured on my Dragy. It’s a dead horse topic nevertheless. People believe what they want even if they are too lazy to test things for themselves like I did.
  23. No, the Z71/X31 use a deeper “high capacity” filter in the normal air box. The performance intake is totally different. Has a straight tube with no resonator, a clear lid, and a round filter.
  24. That only turns them on during a remote start. Once the key is on, they shut back off. Really silly.
