  1. UNREAL! Sorry to hear. That’s record-level incompetence. Now the windshield has to come out to replace that headliner and probably even more stuff will get effed up in that process.
  2. I think even GM would agree with most of those points and it’s being addressed. Except the text thing. They deliberately removed that; my 2016 could do it but not the 19. And the pano roof…that’s not happening via mid-cycle refresh. GM as a company mainly needs to stop being a prude with their trucks. Make something fun once in awhile.
  3. My 19 looks like that too. Has since new.
  4. I didn’t catch that the first time I read his post but good point. Maybe the charge was always there, but just not itemized until a purchase agreement was drafted? Huge difference between that $1200 being in the negotiated price from the start, versus an additional $1200 just being tacked on after negotiations.
  5. I guess one has to define the threshold for “easily” visible. The thing that threw mine over the edge for replacement was the giant crack that carried all the way down the slider track. There were a handful of other small cracks existing for nearly two years that you could see from inside if you got close and looked for ‘em. Those got the sealant fix initially. It’s unfortunate but I can count on one hand the number of posters here who got a new window right out of the gate for the typical small cracks the TSB addresses.
  6. Got it back today. They actually surprised me and did a really nice job. Haven’t given her the water test yet but hopefully it’ll be fine. New window is an “E4”.
  7. Unfortunately a pretty common trick. And I’m willing to bet in this market someone will walk in behind you and pay that markup. FWIW I clay bar all my new vehicles. Lots of rail dust and other embedded junk from shipping and storage. You’d be surprised how filthy the clay gets. And I bet it’s even worse now since some of these mostly finished trucks are sitting in storage lots for long periods of time waiting for parts. Anyway, you don’t want to just wax over all that crap.
  8. May be most pronounced in Cali, but it’s reflective of a broader inventory issue. Not too much better at the dealers around here (Wisconsin). Higher trim GMCs marked up $2500, so the factory $5000 purchase allowance winds up only a net $2500 discount off MSRP. I won’t be a buyer in that scenario but I don’t really begrudge the dealers for doing this.
  9. GM sent me this in a poll asking for opinions on a similar feature. Safe to say it’s on the way for GM trucks too. These were the other potential new trailering features if anyone was curious:
  10. Frankentruck? This one is for sale at a nearby used car lot. It’s even worse in person.
  11. Own the stuff that inflates. All you can do.
  12. Yeah, there ain’t much out there. No Denalis in stock around here, and the AT4s they have actually carry a dealer markup of $2500. So the price, even with the GMC 5k rebate is only $2500 below MSRP. If I bought another GM I’d wait for the refresh anyway. I wouldn’t do those type of deals on a 21. That said, I really have the itch for something new and want to take advantage of these trade-in prices. I was just kinda weighing my options last week and called up the sales rep who sold me my last two trucks. Her Chrysler dealer wound up having an allocation for a TRX, and they agreed to let it go for sticker, which is like winning the lottery at this point. So I got that writing, built a billet silver level 2 truck and gave a deposit. We’ll see how the timing of everything shakes out. I think the market will stay crazy for the foreseeable future and I’m probably positioned to make out very well. Wife hasn’t killed me yet either so that’s a bonus.
  13. Anyone try Vroom? Holy crap they are high. Offering me 55k for a 2.5 year old truck that stickered for 61 new and I paid ~53 for.
  14. GM virtually never approve a new window on the first attempt at repair. Those tiny cracks are exactly what the TSB calls to fill in with seam sealer. It sucks but you gotta play their game. Certainly possible that they did a shitty job and it’ll leak again. And then maybe if you’re lucky... Side note, mine is finally approved for a new window. Only took 1.5 years and 2 prior visits. Should be done in a few days. I’m sure the third party glass guy will love fighting with all the sealant they spread over the frame.
  15. While you can’t do an even trade for the “same truck just newer”, the market right now presents a good opportunity to get nearly all your original money back and put it into something else if you wanted to upgrade anyway. Say to go from a mid range truck to high end. Or from a double cab to a crew cab. It’s pretty much like a do-over. Biggest problem is finding something to trade into.
  16. Dropped mine off this morning. Gave me an Equinox...better than the Encore I got last time but I still can’t tow my damn boat. Supposed to be 81 degrees tomorrow.
  17. You would hope...but I do remember the 2016 refresh debuting really really late. September I think.
  18. I have dealt with the same issue and wound up replacing my driver’s side arm too. It was like $25 on eBay brand new GM. Still streaks at the top but no longer leaves a giant streak under the attachment point. The original arm was indeed bent, probably from snow.
  19. I did the KBB instant offer and seemingly every Chrysler dealer in the region called me within a few minutes. KBB was higher than Carvana but Carmax has been the best. I can get within 2k of what I paid over 2 years ago. Stupid not to take it but the only thing I would trade for at the moment is a TRX (and at MSRP). Otherwise one could make a good argument to just sell it and drive a beater until inventory recovers. Like day-trading but with a vehicle.
  20. Only right I have anymore is to repeatedly be inconvenienced by a never-ending leak. Oh, and the right to never buy another new GM. Going in for my 3rd visit Monday. Pushing for replacement because I finally have a visible crack that cannot be patched up / covered up like they did the exterior cracks.
  21. Just saying, people today are getting back what they paid for their trucks two years earlier. If the numbers work, getting one that’s newer with no miles, a ten speed, and a full warranty...less likely to leak...worth looking into. Personally, I would trust my 19 out of warranty about as far as I could push it.
  22. I think you could make the switch work out pretty well in your favor. Trade-in values are great but of course the downside is that inventory is pretty tight. You’ll get the 10 speed instead of the 8 which in itself is a great upgrade. As far as the window...the 2021 has at least less of a chance to leak. You see the thread and know there aren’t any guarantees, even for a 2021. But the odds are better than with a 19.
  23. Good call. Not sure if they would be same either though. Might be worth it for the OP to look into.
  24. There’s going to be no way to do this with factory parts and have a match. All factory leather back seats have the storage compartments in the seat backs. The only non-storage seat backs are cloth. Also of note, the non-storage seatbacks do not have the fold down arm rest either.
  25. L7 & L9 definitely disable DFM. It’s not too apparent stock. But with intake and catback you can really tell when it is and isn’t dropping cylinders.
