  1. Well, I see fuel prices only going in one direction for the next four years. If it gets real bad you will feel better about not having to feed a 6.2 $5/gal premium. I know I love the 6.2 power, but I am open to going to the 3.0 for practical purposes depending on how things look in the future.
  2. Almost all of the gains on the GMPP package is from the exhaust. 13 of the 15HP, and all but 1 LB-FT of TQ are on the exhaust side. Agree that the GMPP catback is probably the mildest, but it still has some sound for sure. I was actually surprised when I first got it. Cold starts are a little rowdy.
  3. Yes it’s standard on your truck. You will lose traffic data and a few other little things but the nav still works just fine without Onstar. I like how the factory nav integrates into the cluster and HUD so I use it often.
  4. No. Those trucks just have a “higher capacity” filter with the stock airbox and intake tube.
  5. Woodland green is an SEO / fleet color. It’s not something you could ever just walk into any old dealer and buy.
  6. So we are quoting the 4.3’s HP & TQ numbers on E85, but then it’s fuel economy numbers on regular gas? Someone’s operating the cherry-picker again.
  7. Just re-enter the country through the southern border. These days you don’t even need an actual passport, let alone a vaccine passport.
  8. Pressure washer makes them extremely easy and satisfying to clean. I look forward to it in spring.
  9. You’re wasting your time with this one.
  10. Yup, that’s about where I have mine.
  11. I don’t buy new vehicles long distance because I feel I get better service from the selling dealer when issues come up. But that said, I wouldn’t buy anything I didn’t feel confident in driving across country the same day. Being a 2021, not a first year truck, etc., I really wouldn’t expect any major gremlins. Especially one that would render the truck totally unusable. My 2019 has kinda been a POS at times. But even it hasn’t ever stranded me.
  12. Just run it. My truck was a dealer transfer that had over 100 miles on it when I got it. I’m sure the people who drove it there on the highway didn’t exactly take it easy or vary speeds. They probably beat on it like I do. And I would hope you can trust your brand new vehicle to make a 700 mile trip without issue.
  13. Hehe, yeah, mowing is definitely not my favorite. Took a lot to get me to stick the money into a new one for that reason. But I do everything I can to keep the ones I have going until they totally fall apart. Even run Amsoil in them. Would rather spend the time and money on the boat or the car but it is what it is. Have two properties to maintain and nothing makes it take longer to do than having broken down equipment all the time. Both of my MTD snowblowers are from the mid 90s and they have each had some kind of failure at least once every winter for the past 4 years. They are next on the chopping block.
  14. The guy was just sharing how he was happy with his truck and his 2.7. Leave it to one person to trash talk his engine and start a shitstorm when he didn’t ask for the opinion in the first place. Again. We’ll never have to wonder why new people don’t stick around here.
  15. Tell ya what I’m not doing in my spare time anymore...wrenching on my old JD rider. Just couldn’t handle the constant failures of a 40 year old mower. The deck I booger welded together a few years ago was failing again and probably unsafe at this point. Pulling the Briggs flathead I put in a few years ago and scrapping the rest. So instead I spent the afternoon ceramic coating every inch of the new Cub with Adam’s Graphene and putting PPF on the high wear areas and bumpers. People must think I’m insane. They finally started putting proper engines in these for 2021 so I signed on. I won’t touch their Chinese house brand engine, or even a Kohler at this point.
  16. Bought it cuz the front end is styled just like a Silverado.
  17. Yes. They changed fluid type mid-year which supposedly addressed the issue with shuddering. But it’ll never be the transmission the 10 speed is. And as you said in your first post, you def want the 6.2 anyway.
  18. Very nice. Good luck ever keeping it clean though!
  19. Feel like everyones tolerance level for automatic wash scratches is different. But they all leave ‘em and in the sun you can see them. The lower down on the vehicle you go, the worse and deeper they get because that’s where the dirt is. Especially up here with the salt and sand they use. All of the stuff off the cars in front of you gets rubbed into your paint. Nobody is cleaning the brushes between cars. Even at the fully staffed conveyor belt wash we have in town.
  20. To be fair it’s a factory lift, not level. They aren’t level on purpose. There’s posts all the time about blown out CV axles, broken upper ball joints, etc. from leveling kits. I mean it’s like one a week between here and Facebook. Worn bushings seems like the best case scenario. These trucks really just don’t like it. I dunno, I buy new so I don’t have to worry about a wheel falling off. Aftermarket UCAs are the only way I’d do it.
  21. Every. Single. Time. Someone posts about their new 2.7 truck. Look how most trucks get used and tell me it isn’t pretty much perfect for 90% of people. And if they made it more tunable it would be fun to turn that thing up to 11 and see what it can do. I’ve always been jealous of the performance people get out of the ecoboost trucks with just a tune.
  22. Yours looks pretty screwed up to me.
  23. Cutting the carpet is only necessary if you want to route the wire completely under it. I didn’t because who gives a rip how it looks under a seat. Again, there is no programming. No control via the head unit unless you count the normal EQ. It’s just tapped off a door speaker channel. Truck doesn’t even know it’s there. The only thing that makes it any different than any other off the shelf sub is it’s shape and utilizing a factory-like mounting location. The knob is needed or the thing is full gain all the time. I put it above the wireless charging pad with double sided tape. It looks almost factory.
  24. 19 has the 10 speed instead of 8, and DFM instead of AFM. Overall the 19 is much better driving truck dynamically. The powertrain and handling is perfect. Probably the biggest reason to go with the 19. You also have the option of more goodies in the 19. HUD, 360 camera, rear camera mirror, trailer tire pressure monitoring, heated rear seats with seat-back storage, multi-pro tailgate, deeper and wider bed, etc. That said, you do lose power pedals, height adjustable seatbelts, sunglasses storage in the overhead console and some other little things they deleted for 2019. There are some definite reasons to consider the 2018 too besides price. Being the last year of that body style, most issues were pretty well sorted. Save for the 8 speed that some people hate and maybe the chance that it’ll have the Chevy shakes going on. The 2019 is a first year truck so there’s bugs and glitches. Fair chance the rear window will leak (or has leaked) on the 19 too, especially if it’s an early build, say pre-11/2018.
