  1. Because you are leased you may have something in your contract about modifications. I have an extended warranty but it's useless to me because the contract state's there's zero tolerance for modifications. No if's, and's or but's. But like newguy said, modifications, "Can" void your warranty. An aftermarket air intake may give you some grief if you ever take your truck in for transmission shifting issues etc. Aftermarket cat-back won't (Shouldn't) give you any problems... unless maybe you take it in for noise or vibrations issues.
  2. Its seasonal/temperature (altitude density) related; engine/fueling varies pending conditions. Loud in early fall to winter + spring; quiet in the dead of winter & summer.
  3. That's screwed up! Best of luck, hope an aftermarket converter works out for you.
  4. So GM has paid to replace your converter 5 times? GM can be dumb, but I don't think they're that dumb. Something doesn't add up. They should have given you a new trans after the second failure.
  5. I dunno... There is definitely some squeak with that tick. Did you guys use ear pods for the video?
  6. I think what the other threads are referring to is when the trans tests itself for wear. It will compare the test to the baseline and make the necessary adjustments to maintain proper function, shift feel etc. What your describing seems to be a consistent issue in specific gears. Or maybe... Because you screw around with it during the test, it gets wildly different results each time. Confusing the hell out of it
  7. Have you had/heard magnaflow before? Exhaust sound is subjective but imo it's very mild/mellow, almost like refined drone. GM exhaust = Classic muscle Borla = Deeep/Aggressive Corsa = Unique tone (sharp)/Aggressive Flowmaster = Annoying (deep)/Aggressive drone That's all I've got, and its just my opinion But I highly recommend that whatever you do, go with one you really want! Otherwise you'll eventually get very sick of it and be stuck with it.. Or you'll end up buying the one you should have bought the first time around.
  8. I agree with you, but there are people who try to keep it v4 as much as possible. Given the option, they would even opt to have it run in v4 full time I don't understand it... but these customers exist none the less.
  9. Maybe it's Morse Code? Deceased relative? I will come and investigate for 500 dollars an hr; plus accommodations
  10. Do you have a dry filter or a oiled filter? If your maf has failed twice and you have a oiled filter; I think it's safe to assume the maf is being contaminated with oil. If you have a dry filter
  11. Any drilling required?
  12. The 6.2's come with the wiring harness and tuning as well: 6.2's are 100% e85 capable. Gmt900 6.2's are e85 capable from the factory. E85 support was cut because GM stopped getting paid by the government to include it. Imo, gm didn't include it on the 2014 6.2 k2's because it would be pushing power levels higher then they were comfortable with. That, and the l86 would be advertised as making more horsepower and torque then the LT1. Car owners would be up in arms over that.
  13. I knock on 94 octane. looking forward to seeing what happens with e85; which actually is e85 (at least last time it was checked). Downside is there's only the one independent station that sells it where I am, so it cost's as much 87. The stupid thing is there's a massive refinery that produces ethanol (for fuel) a few hr's away.
  14. Imo your doing all the right things, and the shop is looking after you which is good. If it was my truck I would crawl under there and put some eye's on the wiring/connection's for the transfer case etc. Just to see for myself nothing was cut or damaged. There should be zero issues with your wiring if they made the appropriate disconnections before doing any work. In other words, they did something wrong.
  15. They won't even do that. If there's no codes, there's no problem..
  16. Can you post the install instructions for your lift?
  17. That's impressive! I'm assuming you do plenty of wot too?
  18. Where do you put the kill switch.
  19. No, it's not required but you would benefit from it
  20. Absolutely. I think if you want an intake, buy one. But how it performs when you first install it, and how it performs after 100miles may not be the same; unless your tuned. Air intakes and their affect is a lot more complicated then google will tell you.. I just ordered a afe intake but there's a 4 month national backorder! I said I would never buy aftermarket again The main reason I did was that I need a intake that will fit over a 95mm tb. On that note! 95mm is pretty much of 0 benefit in my application. But it's something I've been wanting to do.
  21. Thanks... but I'm looking for info on whether or not the l86 has the same coated bearings as the lt1
  22. The LT1's main rod bearings/connecting rod bearings are polymer coated for increased fatigue strength and durability over the Gen IV aluminum bimetal bearings. Reduced friction, reduced heat, increased strength, smooth, stronger power delivery. I just can't figure out why they would advertise this in the lt1 but not the l86. If they do have the same internals..
  23. You shouldn't state that low octane fuel burns faster. It's entirely dependent on the composition of the fuel. Some of the highest octane fuels are also some of the fastest burning. Resistance to pre-ignition is the purpose of high octane. Burn speed really only becomes a factor when you have a high reving, high strung engine and you require a faster burn speed at high rpm's. Tuning is also a big factor here. Adjustments in timing can be made to accommodate the fuel's burn speed; making as much, or even more power then the slower burning fuel. Or vice versa for that matter..
  24. Motor trend also doesn't know how to operate a dyno https://www.thedrive.com/news/30990/heres-what-happened-with-motor-trends-controversial-2020-chevy-corvette-dyno-test One would think they would verify findings before advertising significantly more power at the wheels; then the sae certified power rating at the crank...
