  1. This recall however does not take care of the known faulty Vacuum Pump. Faulty Pump recall came about a few months back where they replace the pump if a loss of braking power is detected. This software update is a band aid quicker and cheaper fix than replacing the root problem. Aside from a possible loss in braking power...……..when the pump goes, it causes metal shavings to enter the oil system thus possibly grenading the engine. Which is another good reason for replacing the newer upgraded Vacuum Pump.
  2. Sounds a lot like our Government
  3. Since you are on the penny pinching topic..... also note that your T1 has a plastic hood release lever. Was this to save money or weight, or both ?
  4. I added fluid to the new condenser from the old condenser, as my transmission fluid had just been changed a few months earlier. I saw no need to go buy a quart just to use some of it when there was already fluid from the factory condenser that would work fine.
  5. Estimated cost to go from the 2.0 to a 3.0 with factory screen on a 2014 ?
  6. Great review. Thanks!
  7. Was the $100 charge with the units on the truck? If so that is not bad. Also, did you get an alignment?
  8. I replaced the condenser myself for around $200 all in. Didn't want to pay a shop $700-$1200 Pulling a vacuum only involves Freon, not transmission fluid The A/C and Transmission lines are separate.
  9. Amen James! The big box store rental compressors are designed for car MacPherson struts and not our trucks.
  10. Because the condenser works for the a/c system and is also a transmission cooler. The transmission cooler lines are located on top of the condenser on both driver/passenger side. They are held in by clips. If you take the condenser out carefully, you can transfer the existing condenser transmission fluid over to the new unit which is what I did.
  11. Eibach is good also. Pro-Comp SS etc...…
  12. I am thrilled there are others out there like me that Do NOT miss their factory Twin Tube Rancho's ?
  13. What size Ridge Grapplers are you running?
  14. Well IMHO as I have stated before in the 2014-2018 truck section, it is the Rancho shocks. Trail Boss and AT4 are equipped with the Monotube version which is better than the twin tube design on your truck. Twin Tube Ranchos are not dampened very well and are lackluster on roads where there are railroad crossings, pot holes, washboard sections etc. They are also spongy and the rebound is off when off roading.
  15. Do you have Z71 suspension package with the Rancho shocks? What trim package if so? Trail Boss or other?
  16. My thoughts? The fabricator was either drunk or grew up in the 50's ! ?
  17. The replacement takes more than an hour especially if you pull a vacuum and recharge. The factory tape band aid is what it. IMHO aftermarket condensers are made much better than the OEM units.
  18. Maybe I work for Bilstein......
  19. It's not that easy, but some members have had success. It really all depends on the dealer.
  20. Good looking truck Sean. What size Ridge Grapplers are you running?
  21. So how do you like them compared to the old Ranchos ?
  22. Then you are still in good shape. Some dealers will replace regardless of if they can "duplicate" an issue or not.
  23. There is another believer out there
