  1. Now this is a Topic i would be curious to browse through over on the 2019/2020 RAM 1500 Forums! LOL
  2. This is how I felt going from a 2005 Avalanche to my '14 Sierra. Night and Day comparison between these two generations.
  3. Gotcha. Thanks Phil.
  4. Or a 2500 HD ! Wow that is a load for a half ton. Do you have the 5.3 or 6.2 ?
  5. Looks like the surface of Mars. Satin Steel really pops in the sunlight What part of the country?
  6. My '14 Sierra SLT has the best interior of any GM vehicle I have ever owned. Only complaint i had/have is why did the drivers assist handle not come standard as they do now. 5 years later and anyone who has never been in it will give me compliments. My wife and I have test driven the T1 Silverado High Country and GMC Denali trucks. Her comment after seeing both..... " Why did they downgrade the interior from what you have ?" High Country and Denali should be Premium Interiors. After-all, they are suppose to be Premium Packages.
  7. Maybe one of these will be in your future.....
  8. The One thing GM has going to for them with the T1 interiors : Familiarity! And there is nothing wrong with that. Facts are facts gentleman. Opinions are Opinions I am a long life GM fan and supporter but i know when to call a spade a spade. T1 is suppose to be an all new truck. I would NOT consider the interior ALL NEW. Simple Yes. Familiar Yes. Refined.....No. And by no means am I suggesting to go buy a RAM just for the interior. It's Lipstick on a Pig as I always say
  9. I just made a general statement to point out that it is wiser to go back down in the rear than it is to go farther up in the front with the 5100 already on max setting. Just some friendly advice. This is all irrelevant, however. As the OP indicated the shop did not have the 5100s set at the top notch.
  10. Red 5, By raising the shock ring position higher it will push the A-Arms down, thus essentially lifting the front end (body, bumpers, plastic air dam, diff etc) off the ground. Add in a larger diameter tire and you will achieve even more lift off the ground. If memory serves me correct I went from about 9 1/4" from ground to bottom of air dam to about 10.5" with my 5100s on the 3rd clip. All trucks and suspension packages are slightly different so your results may vary.
  11. This is a highly discussed Topic. GM dropped the ball on the 2019 T1 interiors across all trim levels. K2 interiors are nicer by far than this T1 generation. RAM wins this category by a mile.
  12. +2 on remove the rear block/go back to factory block. It is Not recommended to add spacers in unison with the Bilstein 5100 setup.
  13. Volume does not equate to quality. With volume, it's all about how quick you can rush a job through to make room for another. Low volume dealers seem to be more attentive and quality minded with repairs. Not in every case but more so over a volume dealer.
  14. All GM trucks are created equal. It's the dealer that makes a difference.... and that's the truth. Find a new dealer
  15. YES. I recommend Replacing the two Seals where the a/c lines connect to the condenser. Napa, Autozone have a full kit for around $12 or i think you can find the two gaskets at the dealer for $4-$6 each.
  16. The elaboration is this... GM engineers came up with this fix to help prevent "stress cracks" from forming where the condenser and round tube dryer meet. This was derived in lieu of a new beefier designed unit. Cost cutting measure i'm sure. That is why IMHO a good aftermarket unit is a better option than this "upgraded" factory condenser for those who are replacing themselves.
  17. It's an Aesthetic principal I guess.
  18. I wish Bilstein would offer an equivalent bodied rear shock to accompany this 6112 front. The 5160 is a 5100 with a reservoir. Smaller body and rod.
  19. Most monotubes are going to give you that "stiff" feel. But that is the beauty of them. The stiff feeling offers that planted ride and soaks up the crap in the roads that Twin Tubes do not. Rancho does make the 9000 adjustable shock. Not sure about the quality or longevity of them.
  20. 20's are good. I like mine. Fairly comparable to an 18 if you have lowered air pressure. 22's however are Overkill and more harsh riding IMHO 18's are better for a truck that sees more off-road terrain. I do like the 18" AT4 wheels though.
  21. Nice review and post Doug. Thanks for sharing. These have been highly anticipated since 2015 when they were introduced. I gave up on them and went with 5100s. Painful as to why it took 4 years for them to be released on the GM trucks. Question is, are they really worth the $400 more than a front set of 5100's ? My 5100s provided a tremendous positive result over the worn out Ranchos on my truck. I dog on the Ranchos any chance i can get! Your ride experience compares to the feel of the 5100s. Maybe the spring is softer for these than the factory spring for the 5100s.
