  1. ?omg. I just discovered you can have the drivers or passenger side mirrors tilt down when you put the truck in reverse. Now that is cool. It saved me from from running over a ?.
  2. My second round of cool discoveries. Ok after a month of ownership. I have tried the sport mode in my 6.2 Crew Cab short box and wow! What a difference from normal mode. The throttle response is more crisp. The power folding mirrors are so convenient when squeezing into the atm or bank teller lanes. The SiriusXM radio is cooler than the other side of the pillow. And the interior is so quiet cruising down the highway at 70mph you could hear an ? fart.
  3. It’s expensive. Buts it’s arguably the best oil filter for your truck Amsoil EA017.
  4. Chevy Chat is hit or miss. You may get lucky and the chat person you get connected with will know how to get the information you are requesting. Or you could end up chatting with someone who just got hired that doesn’t know the difference between a Corvette and a Silverado. Good luck ?.
  5. Goodyear is not totally junk. Come on people! The Dura Trac is a top rated tire in its category. The very hard to find Ultra Terrain is also very highly rated. Their Triple Tread passenger car tire was amazing years ago.
  6. I have the 20 inch Bridgestone Dueler all terrain tires on my 2020 Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab short box Z-71. And even though I only have 800 miles on them. They are very quiet on the highway. They are good in the rain. And they actually are not that bad on highway on-ramp and exit ramps cornering wise. As long as you maintain your wits.
  7. If you haven’t purchased a winch yet? Have you given Ramsey Winch a try? My childhood friend has had his own towing and recovery business for 25 years and says Ramsey Winches are absolutely bombproof.
  8. Good morning. New owner of a Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab short box. I’ve only had it for 2 weeks. So I’m still discovering how freakin awesome this truck is. But so far. The seat cooling feature is absolutely amazing. Especially when it’s 90 degrees outside. And I absolutely love the led headlights. Those things are really bright.
  9. I had to go into the infotainment vehicle settings to turn the horn beeping off. Due to my wife dropping a bag of groceries while walking away from the satin steel metallic sexy beasts horn chirping and led headlights reflecting off the neighbors bright colored house literally turning this section of my street into daylight. The horn is loud. Very loud. And the led headlights. Are very bright. I feel bad for a smaller vehicle that’s in front of me at night. Those are bright.
  10. New Silverado owner here. I have a 2020 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab short box LTZ 6.2, Z-71 off road and protection package with 20 in wheels and all terrain tires. I’ve only had it for 2 weeks. On a mini road trip up the coast from where I live about 240 miles round trip. With my wife and teenage son. Driving 65-70 on the highway and going 5 over the speed limit through sleepy coastal towns. With the ac on full blast the whole time. This truck averaged an unbelievable 24 mpg. I said no way possible! It’s too new. I decided to stop in and fuel up at the Mobil station up the road from me. And it actually averaged 24.22. With my math. The trucks computer listed mpg as 24.36. I didn’t buy this gigantic land yacht for fuel economy. But I am really impressed with the mpgs if you can somehow keep your foot from going to the floor. Because fast trucks are fun to drive.
  11. Thanks! I wanted $10k off. But I knew that was unrealistic due to absolutely zero inventory in my local area for like a month. I was totally expecting my salesman to say. Look. You ordered this truck back in February you have first dibs. But this is the price we are going to sell it for. Just the $5000 customer cash. No further discounts. Because there are 6 other people that want to buy it. But after their first lowest rock bottom selling price. And a little humorous haggling over 2 days. With absolutely no pressure to buy from the dealership. We agreed on a number that was within $1000 of what I thought was a fair price. I got a case of oil filters. 2 spare wiper blades. 1 gallon of green rain-x. A Chevy fleece jacket. Extra keyless entry transmitter batteries. A hood/bug deflector. A set of window vents. As part of the deal. I tried to get the huge cardboard Silverado that was in the middle of the showroom. But. The sales manager finally said no to my ever growing list of “extras”.
  12. Finally it’s mine. 2020 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab short box LTZ with the 6.2. $57615 msrp. $48500 before tax. I wanted $10k off msrp. But. Under the current circumstances of inventory shortage. Especially in my multi state region in the north east. I think I got a very fair deal. It was a great buying experience. Although it took longer than expected. Due to the factories being shut down for 2 months. The haggling was very humorous. Everyone was polite and professional. I will say that this truck is a behemoth compared to my little Corolla.
  13. I’m in an arm wrestling match kinda right now with my salesman. I’m going back later today to see if I can squeeze more than $9000 off msrp. Which actually is probably a good deal due to zero inventory in my local area. Well I’ll know later today.
  14. Well after being stuck waiting for a ride from the port of entry to my dealership which took 16 days. I know get to wait until later today to see how pretty it looks.
  15. Some Chevy chat people don’t even know what an event code is. And some have told me that’s confidential dealer only info. I just disconnect and hope the next person has a remote clue.
  16. That’s 1 thing that my state doesn’t have a Costco. We have BJs and Sams Clubs. The nearest Costco is a hundred miles away.
  17. I’m hoping for the $5k customer cash. Dealer discount I’m hoping for another $3k. My wife is a nurse so maybe another $500? I’m going to ask for $11k. But I could live with 9k off sticker. $10k would be better. But. I won’t know till tomorrow. This is torture. It’s like the night before Christmas when I was 7 years old.
  18. Great deal! And your dealership actually found another to swap trucks? Unheard of in my area. Because there are like no 1/2 ton Crew cabs in stock. Just ordered trucks being delivered to dealerships.
  19. Was that an in stock truck? Or an ordered one? Either way $10k off is pretty good in these times.
  20. Well. I was going to give this onstar thing a try. But. I just checked my emails. And my salesman emailed me 2 hours ago with the awesome news. The truck has arrived at the dealership. The pre delivery inspection will be done tomorrow morning. So I have an appointment to go check it out tomorrow afternoon. Finally!!
  21. Hi there. Fellow member here also waiting for a truck that is currently waiting for a ride from the boatyard where it was dropped off 2 weeks ago. Regarding onstar. Do you just call them up and tell them this is your ordered truck and this is the vin. Could you please tell me where it’s current location is? Or do they interrogate you with 50 questions?
  22. Chevy chat is your best way. Your sales representative can check for you also. Your vehicle is at event code 4200 in transit. Your next update will be event code 4800. When the boat arrives in port and your vehicle is unloaded. Mine has been sitting in a port about a 140 miles south of me for 2 weeks as of today. Just waiting for the car carrier company to pick it up along with a lot of other cars. My salesman did call the car carrier company up. And they yelled and cursed at him and promptly hung up. So. He’s hoping maybe within 2 weeks?? Not bad for being ordered in February.
  23. That is the tough one. To walk away from a truck I’ve been waiting nearly 6 months for. But there is no way I would only accept $5000 off msrp to buy.
  24. I can’t wait to see what kind of deal my salesman will have for me. If any when my ordered truck from February arrives either this week or next. The msrp is $57100 When the truck was ordered he said don’t worry. The selling price will be under $50k regardless of what incentives are. He stated high $40s. So. If I can get it for $47 or 48 before tax. I think I could live with that. If he says due to inventory and the current situation the auto industry is in. We can only give you $5000 off. I will tell him to keep it. And go rip someone else off. And I will wait and buy something else.
  25. It’s slightly worse. $5000 cash back instead of $5500 on Silverado 1500 Crew Cab. I guess no truck month special for me when my truck arrives within the next week or two.
