  1. I don't know what you want. I said there might be minimal horsepower gains at higher RPMs. I'm happy for you that you have the fastest truck in all the land. My stock 5.3 cowers in fear. My only consolation is that it's a truck and its purpose was never to win drag races in Iowa. I'd just like some proof that's more than anecdotal or obvious advertisement.
  2. I never said there'd be no horsepower gains. I said they'd be minimal at best. The 5 horsepower gained in the one video is on the order of a rounding error, and the 15 horsepower gained in the other needs to be taken with a truckload of salt given the amount of product promotion in the video. But if you're going to believe every bit of advertising thrown your way, I'll stay tuned for your report on the tornado air intake and fuel line magnets.
  3. You don't find it odd that the facts change based on how much sponsorship the video appears to have? One guy gets 5 HP, the other guy gets 15 HP. Heck, if they paid me, I'd probably get 50 HP!!!* *Actual horsepower gains may vary.
  4. I've always considered 5 to be "a few." Funny how the first video, where the guy plugs the company for 10 minutes, produces even better results.
  5. What if we're a grumpy, younger individual? A CAI might add a bit of horsepower (a few) as you approach redline. How often are you up there? You're not going to see any appreciable increase in MPG. Considering how much money and effort auto manufacturers are putting in to eke out a bit more MPG (auto start/stop, air dams, active grill shutters, etc.,) you can rest assured that if a few cents per vehicle improved MPG, they'd come that way from the factory. Your truck has two valves per cylinder. That's your air flow restriction, and no CAI is going to fix that. But sometimes a placebo is worth its weight in gold...
  6. Not over here. You might want to try: https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum/248-2021-tahoe-suburban-yukon-yukon-xl-escalade/
  7. No. It's based on a having a BMEP that's nearly double that of the 5.3.
  8. The 2.7 is working a hell of a lot harder to make power numbers up there with the 5.3. I look forward to the long-term reliability results.
  9. You might want to ask in the T1 section of the forum.
  10. Don't use any lubricant on the wheel or mating surface. Friction between these surfaces is what actually keeps your wheel in the right place. If you hit something that requires the hub to centre the wheel, you're probably damaging components. Personally, I deal with stuck wheels with a good, solid heel kick. Sometimes several. Then clean the two surfaces with a wire brush.
  11. All three of my GMs set off the TPMS when they're at about 75% of the recommended pressure, so I doubt that's anything to worry about. I'm sure if you're willing to drop a few grand on wheels and tires, the dealership will play ball and take two minutes to recalibrate your speedo/odo. Otherwise I'd be calling up a different dealer. Many aftermarket tuners can make this adjustment as well. You need to move the decimal point over in your revs/mile calculation. If you don't get anything recalibrated, your speedo and odo will be under by 5.8%.
  12. Has anyone had an issue with condensation freezing in catch cans?
  13. I'm also interested in cold weather use, though I'd prefer some testing at -40 (feel free to pick your own temperature scale.)
  14. If it's any consolation, as punishment for the terrible fit and finish, GM closed the Oshawa plant and laid off the workers. Hopefully it's just some adhesive that can be heated up and pressed down. Good luck.
  15. Double cabs have the sensor. My dog weighs 60 lbs. Ask me how I know.
  16. My truck didn't even come with a cassette deck. Can you believe it? In a $50k truck, no less.
  17. You're going to want to head over to the 2019+ section of the site.
  18. Be forewarned: unlike the Ford's keypads (which are hardwired,) GM's stick-on keypads are battery powered and non-serviceable to boot. Not only do you have the fear of the battery dying in the back of your mind (so you end up carrying your keys with you all the time anyway,) you also get the joy of forking over more cash for a new pad and programming when the battery dies.
  19. Your truck has a modern, direct injection motor. The regular air filter vs. a CAI will have next to no effect on fuel efficiency, except perhaps at high RPMs (but at that point, having only two valves per cylinder is a much greater hindrance.) If you're hitting the rev limiter on a regular basis, you're probably not concerned about fuel efficiency anyway. The trucks would most certainly come with CAIs from the factory if they improved fuel economy significantly.
  20. The vast majority of synthetic oil is created using chemically altered petroleum.
  21. Let's be perfectly honest: anyone who says they never bump into their ball mount when it's left in the receiver is a liar.
  22. Countless shins will thank you for removing it.
  23. Mine comes on when I unlock the truck, so... probably?
  24. The seat bottom and back come out as one (folding) piece, and pictures online seem to show different mounting brackets on the floor. I'm sure it's possible, but I wouldn't want to spend the time MacGyvering it to make it work.
  25. Sounds like my wife's Verano. My LD isn't quite so obnoxious. Direct injection is noisy, especially on start up. Mention it at the dealership the next time you're there. Under warranty, you've got nothing to lose.
