  1. There was a bad batch of lifters that were installed in 2021 MY vehicles for a certain time period so maybe that is why it seems there were more failures compared to our gen.
  2. I'd start by cleaning your MAF and see if that helps before doing anything else.
  3. People posting in this thread have or did have this issue too. You won’t spend thousands of dollars to fix it. I fixed mine for $38.00. That’s it.
  4. My truck runs between 130F to 151F since I installed the new thermostat. That is a mix of highway, back roads, and city driving.
  5. I would start by cleaning the ground for the system and making sure it’s on tight. If I remember correctly, that ground is below the driver side door on the bottom of the vehicle.
  6. Something I want to add. I know in the report it explained about getting oil mid-stream which is what I did. I marked on the paper I did too so I'm not sure why they spoke about it in the summary.

  8. Yup, that’s essentially what I did. On the stock radios, there is a piece of glass that is glued to a metal frame. Over time, they can start to go bad which happened to me. Before I fixed it, the touch screen portion on my radio wouldn’t work or would change screens on its own. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I wanted to get it repaired.
  9. I changed my digitizer today. It wasn’t hard to do. The most frustrating part is removing the digitizer from the metal frame due to the adhesive that is used. It’s glued to the frame pretty well. It took some time to heat the adhesive up, remove the digitizer from the frame and then remove as much old adhesive as I could. It would be great if someone made a digitizer already glued to a frame and sell it that way because it would save so much time swapping it out. The metal frame pops right off of the radio.
  10. I got to see and sit in two pre-production Colorados at the Philly auto show a couple of weekends ago. One was a Trail Boss and the other was an LT. This is my personal opinion and I think it was a bag of mixed results. I really liked the layout of the dashboard and the rest of the interior, but I wasn’t impressed with the materials used. The materials used were pretty cheap plastics and it was a little better in the LT with some soft touch materials, but I think the plastics could have been of better quality. Of course, what main manufacturer has not cheaped out on interior materials over the last several years. I’m 5’7 and found it hard to get in and out of the back. It’s a tight fit due to the size of the doors, but I found I had good head room and leg room once seated in the back. Seat material and quality was fine. One thing that really impressed me was the box size. I remember looking at the previous gen crew cab Colorados and thinking to myself how tiny the beds were. This bed or box, whatever you want to call it, is much bigger and a huge improvement over the previous gen crew cab. Another cool thing is that there is a storage compartment on the inside of the tailgate. I don’t remember if there was a way to lock it with a key, but there were two small levers that kept it closed. This feature is called the Stowflex Tailgate per Chevy’s website. Exterior looks wise it’s fine. What I found interesting about the LT was that it was a black truck, had a black front bumper, but had a dark gray grille. I think it would have looked much better if the grille was black too. The hood was open on the Trail Boss and everything fluid wise is easy to find and reach. GMC did not have any Canyons there which was disappointing. Overall, there were some positives and negatives. I think there are areas that could be improved, but other aspects that have improved compared to the last gen. Hopefully these trucks turn out to be dependable and sell well.
  11. I changed the oil and air filters, cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor. Also installed the new thermal bypass.
  12. Thank you. I'm going to go ahead and order the one you got.
  13. Yup, sounds like everything is still good to me.
  14. To those that have changed out their digitizer with one from ebay; how is the fit and finish of the ones you used? Do they look and feel like the factory one?
  15. I went ahead and bought the new thermostat today. I’m going to swap it in when I do my next oil change in a couple hundred miles.
  16. I was surprised GM announced this. There was a rumor the next gen 1/2 ton trucks would have a twin turbo V6 engine as the top engine. I will be interested to see what fuel saving tech they come up with for this upcoming gen.
  17. My fiancé owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra with a cvt. Her car just hit 100,000 miles and it still has the original cvt. We change the fluid every 30,000 miles in it only using Nissan’s fluid. Her brother is working his way to be a master tech for Nissan. He told me it’s better to change the fluids often in them because the transmissions heat up in city driving and it wears the fluid down. People don’t change their fluid and their cvts fail by 60,000 miles. That’s why there was a class action lawsuit against Nissan due to their cvts blowing up left and right because nobody changed their tranny fluid. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Thats why it’s so important to change fluids, filters, etc on a regular basis because it can make a difference in terms of longevity. Also, we haven’t used any additives when we changed the fluid in her cvt at any time.
  18. I searched to see if the lawsuit had been settled/resolved and it doesn’t appear that it has been.
  19. Just like @Snowcamo mentioned, start with your grounds. There is a ground for the negative terminal that bolts to the frame just behind the passenger front wheel well/splash shield. Check to make sure it’s clean and on tight. Also, what year is your truck? If it’s an older K2, pull the small front cover on top of the dash where your DRL sensor is. On the driver side, you’ll see a ground there. If there is insulation bolted down with the ground, unbolt it, snip the piece of insulation away and bolt the ground back down snug. Let us know if this fixes it.
  20. Rebuilding the entire diff so people don’t come back… Yeah, sure. More like they’re just trying to make as much money off people as they can. I hope you can find a mechanic who won’t give you the run around and would change it for you.
