  1. 84,965 at Moore Buick GMC in Jacksonville, NC. That's who I deal with.
  2. Yep. My 2019 Sierra XT31 does the same thing. My 2017 Silverado did as well.
  3. Agree on the new phone if he wants to go that way. I do believe 2020 and above has the wireless connect system. I have the 2019 Sierra and it's a PITA to have to connect through a wire. I don't use nav much unless I'm in an unfamiliar area. I find WAZE to be very good. On Star uses Goggle Maps. I find it to be unreliable. The last update was April 2022. If the USB card doesn't have enough 'space', it won't update. WAZE for me.
  4. They're part of the work light package. I don't know who designed it, it's obvious they never had to work on or around a truck.
  5. Dealership gave me the one that was on my truck. It's in the file I keep on our vehicles.
  6. My 2019 Sierra headlights are bright. When I use fog lights, they tend to light up the sides of the road and don't add much forward light. That is normal for OEM fogs. I agree with newdude, have the lights checked for proper adjustment.
  7. They may be correct. I wanted to replace my OEM mirrors on my 2019 Sierra to tow mirrors. Four different dealers told me there was no kit available for that. I did more research and found out they were correct. There is a thread from 2020 on this site. Don't remember exactly where. You can do a search.
  8. Agree. However, remember that the charging system on these trucks are ECM controlled. So the alternator is probably good. I would strongly suggest checking the ECM relay. If it's sticking, it will cause the problem you describe. To determine if it's bad, swap it with another relay. Easy to do since relays are pretty much all the same.
  9. I don't think there's much difference either. Except most 2019s have the sucky eight speed transmission. How is your truck set up? Max tow package, standard tow? Engine size. Six thousand pounds is not much. But then, you have to consider what is loaded on that trailer and total weight. Don't forget, the tow rating in the manual means total weight. I have a 2019 Sierra SLT, 5.3, eight speed. I tow a 20'enclosed trailer with two 1000# motorcycles, plus luggage, two people, and other stuff. I've pulled it through mountains and had no problems. That is except fuel mileage, 11 mpg with that load.
  10. I have the BAK FlipMX4. Leaks in the front and near the tailgate. Not a whole lot. Just enough to be irritating.
  11. Just check state laws for lighting. Shouldn't be a problem as long as they are aimed correctly. Those off road lights are a different case. Typically not allowed for on road use. Though some of these folks here run them day and night.
  12. Took an 860 mile round trip this past weekend. After about 4 hours of seven hours driving, started hard shift. Stop and go traffic made it worse. Got to our destination hotel and rested about an hour before going to see family. Fifteen minute drive, traffic lights and hard shift. Weather was cold. Next morning, got on the road to visit family, standard cold weather noise from the rear end, grinding, popping. And guess what, hard shift. Return trip, much the same. Did I mention the rumble at 40-45? A few days prior to this trip, I was in a parking lot, I backed up a few feet, put the truck in drive, it hesitated and shift was so hard, I thought someone hit me. I've about had it. About eight months ago, the dealer changed the trans fluid. Even though it had the correct fluid. So I'm going to take it back. If they don't make it right, I may have to look into something else. Yeah, I know I've posted on this before. And there is a class action lawsuit. But dammit, something has to be done.
  13. I'll do that. Will you also address the ongoing transmission problems?
  14. My 2019 Sierra has auto dim on rearview and driver side mirror. My outsides are not tow mirrors. I think it depends on the trim package.
  15. Same issue on my 2019 Sierra. I took it to the dealer and was informed I needed to bring the trailer too. Went back and when they saw the 20' trailer, said they had no room to work on it. Also said the tech couldn't work on it outside. It happened mostly in heavy rain. I ran the on board self test, it didn't show any problems. Having said that, I don't tow anymore so I sold the trailer.
  16. Yes. Same issue on my 2019 Sierra. More noticeable in cold weather. Typical dealer service manager answer, all the 2019 trucks do that. So I stepped out and asked "what is GM doing about it?" Crickets.
  17. It sounds to me like an intermittent ground problem. Finding it could be a problem. Are any other lights on? Brake, tail or others? Do the lights time out? First thing I would do is check the wiring at the fuse and relay block. Swap relays too.
  18. My 2019 Sierra doesn't have a warning light. Not sure if the later models do.
  19. On Star is a pain in the a**. GM pushes it because they own it.
  20. I have seen other posts about this on the 6.2 engine. The 5.3 have had issues as well and there is a class action lawsuit filed. You can check for posts on the subject.
  21. Got a call from my buddy in Texas. Having more issues with his 2022 Sierra. He heard GM is going to recall the 6.2 for seizing problems. Told him I haven't heard anything. Anyone hear of this??
  22. Again. Got a call from a friend in Texas, seems he's having problems with his 2022 Sierra transmission. Same as the 8 speed issues. He's had it to the dealer twice with no luck. They claim they can't duplicate the issue. I told him to have the service manager ride with him. He said he's looking at another brand, no not Dodge. He did say he's had problems with the radio and Infotainment center too. I asked if he was sorry he traded his 21 2500 AT4 diesel. His answer, yes. I'm going to take my 2019 Sierra back for transmission issues again.
  23. 2900 isn't much weight. The only time I had multiple shifting was going up mountains. I learned to take it out of tow mode before the climb. Worked better.
