I recall in another thread someone mentioned that there is a different software setting for the different optional tire sizes to make the speedometer accurate. You are going from one factory size to another factory size. I’d suggest asking the dealer if it is something they can reset for you for not too much money.

As long as all the particles are very tiny, that seems normal to me as well for 28k miles, but I’m not sure I’ve correctly understood the history you described.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Sheath: Regarding checking their work at the dealer, is there a particular concern with errors they might make on this job? I normally do a general under the hood and under the vehicle inspection at home after any dealer work.

When you are approaching a stop, and give it a little gas, like approaching a stop sign on an uphill slope, the downshift to 1st can make a clunk. After a few weeks my truck seemed to learn not to shift that way. I haven’t experienced it in months now. If your clunk is like that, it should get better as the transmission adjusts to your driving habits.

If you can track down the VIN for a truck with the plates you want you can then get the part numbers from a dealer.

I live in a two plate state, and this discussion of folks not wanting holes in the bumper and fascia is why I installed mine with magnets and a tether with no holes.

Running boards will help. A ladder will help you check the oil (?!?) and clean the windshield. Changing the oil definitely requires a ladder.

I have not had this issue, and the dealer or you probably thought of this already, but the first two things I’d try is new batteries in the fobs, and making sure you aren’t getting interference from another radio device like a cell phone.

Does it happen with both fobs?

Would wheel well liners address your concern while preventing trapped fluid in the frame?

Hi All, I have a 2021 GMC 3500HD CCLB SRW SLT gas delivered April 2021 with the older 195F setpoint transmission thermostat. I am typically carrying a 1800 lbs pop up slide in camper that is low drag (14 to 15 mpg with camper). The transmission temperature typically stabilizes between 187 and 195 in the mild PNW summer on long drives. The highest I’ve seen at the end of a climb was 200F, but I’ve not done any huge hot climbs yet. I’ve tried it towing 8000lbs but not on any long climbs that might challenge transmission cooling. I’m trying to decide whether to have the dealer do the free service bulletin replacement with the 150F thermostat even though I don’t seem to need it now. I have not done any heavy towing up long grades in hot weather, so I don’t know if there’s a cooling issue for my planned usage. The most I’ll ever tow is about an 8000 lb boat/trailer. No big travel trailer towing planned. I assume if I wait until after my 3 year warranty is past it won’t be free. Are there any potential disadvantages to getting the lower temp thermostat other than the risk the dealer does something wrong (my experience is about 1 screwup for every 3 visits). Lower gas mileage? I would do it at 15k miles and have the dealer do a transmission fluid and filter replacement at the same time. Thanks

Another factor is the rate of auto loan defaults and repos has gone way up. I watched a recent report showing the banks are holding back large amounts of auction inventory so as to avoid devaluing all of their repossessed assets.

Hi MTU, Separate shock question related to F60: I have a 2021 GMC 3500hd cclb srw SLT I ordered with camper springs. After I drove the truck for a year, I ended up deciding to replace the 5600lb camper springs with the standard 5200lb springs for ride reasons. I’m wondering if the F60 option on my truck means I have different shocks than I would have received if I had not ordered F60. Thanks

I have the stock Michelin 18s on my 2021 and it tracks very nicely.

Try one first if you haven’t already.

Not that it affects ride, but i suspect Z71 also includes skid plates like the X31 on GMC. Just guessing though.

It’s interesting the coolant temp gage shows normal thermostat temperature. I wonder what temperature the computer is sensing for that message. An exhaust gas temperature somewhere with a cooling cycle requirement to clear the message? Oil temperature?

I know this wasn’t your question, but If you don’t plan to plow and you won’t be hauling a heavy slide in camper, you may not like the stiffer front springs that come with the plow package. Don’t be afraid to change them. I did it on mine. Less than two hours and $600 for replacement GM springs. I posted a description and photos of the job.

Not sure how relevant this is , but my 2021 SLT did that on two occasions a few months ago when playing music via Bluetooth from my paired iphone. Each time on the next engine start the display went back to behaving normally.

I have a 2021 3500hd SLT and wish I could have ordered the smaller non-tow mirrors. I’m confused by the discussion of mirrors from a 1500 when there seems to be a 2500HD small mirror configuration available that I’m assuming could be swapped onto my truck. It sounds as though the 2500HD small mirrors from an upper trim model would swap on and the power adjustment, heat, and maybe even folding would still work. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks.

Maybe the OP could post a picture of the truck and trailer combination. Maybe he has a very high aerodynamic drag configuration - like a bumper pull trailer with large frontal area and an open truck bed.

I have Michelins of various types on four vehicles, and have bought well over a dozen sets over the years, and have been very satisfied with them. That video, though, was pretty lame. The equivalent ad slogan would be “Michelin - It’s a Tire!”
