  1. There is a supplement to the owners manual for your 3.0 Duramax in the glove box. Oil pressure is covered in there.
  2. Who said they deleted the antenna?
  3. Can’t help you with the number, but you’ll probably be the first person installing that bumper to read that and actually get a torque wrench out. Maybe call the people who made the bumper and ask if they know it?
  4. Yes, completely different things. Just because it’s accepted (by GM) doesn’t mean that it has been started or even scheduled for production.
  5. They really improved the front end of the new trail boss.
  6. Congrats, you guys in Texas are lucky, doesn’t take long to get the Mexico trucks.
  7. I mean, someone will own the truck at that mileage. Maybe not me or most of the people buying these new, but someone will need to deal with it. There are plenty of cars and trucks out there using a timing belt that requires you to tear the front off the motor, take radiators out, etc. Is removing the drive shaft, unbolting and pulling the trans back really that much worse?
  8. It’s 150k. Im not likely to keep a truck that long, so I don’t care, but it may cost 2k, flat rate, at a dealer. That will be much cheaper at an independent shop. I would also venture a guess to say that most don’t even replace it. For those that risk it, A failure on this belt is not catastrophic like a timing belt. You lose oil pressure and get a check engine light. Pull over right away and there is no damage done.
  9. The 3.0 is cheaper to drive per mile than a 5.3 or 6.2
  10. I have an Undercover Ultraflex hard trifold and it lets the tailgate work like normal, I don’t have to lift the cover.
  11. According to Car Bingo they only buy in select cities in Texas. Car Pro… isn’t that a podcast. I listened to that one day last summer and the guy thought GM was making Buick’s in NORTH Korea. How clueless can you possibly be? Back to the topic.. dealers around me aren’t marking past MSRP. One smaller Chevy dealer guarantees $1000 off MSRP in addition to any rebates.
  12. As if the cover is the only thing under a truck that’s “ugly”. Anything to separate people from their money I guess.
  13. Yeah this mobile version of the forum is trash. I can certainly survive without tequila.
  14. edit: i take it back
  15. That's mighty selfish of you.
  16. Half of you people on this forum are insufferable. All you want to do is troll.
  17. Disregard my previous post. A dealer in Texas posted pics on FB of a High Country they just got.
  18. And if I didn’t drive many miles I wouldn’t either. With fuel costs at $5.29, the 4.5 mpg difference I get between driving how I want and driving to maximize economy means a $75 a month difference. That’s not insignificant and would be stupid not to take advantage of.
  19. Not that I have seen posted online or in person but it should be very very soon. There are lots of trucks, both GMC and Chevy listed as “In Transit” if you use the “view inventory” function on the respective websites.
  20. Useful post, thanks for really bringing a lot to the discussion. It’s not about getting “good” mpg or it being important, just maximizing what’s possible. Who buys a truck for fuel economy? No one, you don’t need to point that out. Trucks are driven for other reasons but that doesn’t mean you can’t try to get the best fuel economy possible while driving that truck, especially when prices are rising.
  21. I have a 3.0 Duramax so not sure how much the below will relate to the 5.3 but it’s certainly possible, especially if you’re currently driving like that. I drive a 175 mile round trip for work 2-3 times a week. Driving however I felt like (included 80+mph in early mornings, “spirited” acceleration at times) got me an overall average of somewhere around 23.5 on that trip. I did it three days in a row last week and did all I could to get the best MPG. Driving at 60 on 55mph roads and 66-68 on 65 mph roads, the absolute minimum throttle input for the situation, and actually using auto start/stop. I ended up at 28.0 for the three days.
  22. Agree, stupid place for the ports. What’s worse is that trailer brake controller on the Sierra. That couldn’t possibly be any dumber. Maybe they changed it for the production trucks??
  23. They fixed this on the supplier and employee discount websites. Trucks are eligible for discount.
  24. FYI, today I called the number for the supplier pricing program. I spoke to a nice, but clueless guy who basically just read off the same website I was looking at and said no discount. I called the dealer I’ve been working with and he looked into it. Told me the discount would be available on a refreshed 22 and wasn’t sure why the website listed that it wasn’t. Im going in next week to order a 22 HC, so we will see then how they determine the supplier price.
