That's right, you didn't read it that way at all because your mind is set that GM is just out to get you and your money. I might know a bit more than you about the '17's but I guess not according to you so you just go with what you got there bud. Peace out. Time to log back off this forum for good this time.

Nothing I've said would suggest that I think that no one should be concerned about sloppy steering. Stop assuming and putting words in my mouth. There's a real fix. '17's don't have the issue so.....?? Sounds like some dealers are struggling to get it done correctly. Not really a GM issue as the dealership, and their employees, are not employees of GM and GM is limited at what they can do "to" dealers that may be "slacking" in ability. Sounds horrible but whether you, or anyone else here, wants to believe it or not, it's the truth. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just looking at it as a realist. Complaining about it and "tracking" it on an Internet forum isn't fixing a damn thing, trust me. I've worked "inside" for years and been approached about things said on similar forums like this. I hate to say it but, things said here aren't getting you guys very far in most instances. My wish would be for better dealers but there are so many things that are screwed up in that aspect, I won't waste the time to even start a discussion on that. We'd need a lot of booze just to crack the surface lol. Good luck to all with issues and to getting them resolved.

Simple fact. I can find problems with almost anything, if I search the Internet for reviews or forums on whatever it is that I'm looking for. Rarely are these places full of good news.

The pitman arm to shaft splines are external. I seriously doubt any dealer pulled the gear apart to be able to see if the any internal shaft teeth were chipped because GM doesn't pay for complete disassembly, inspection, repair or reassembly of steering gears anymore.

Right. But how is metal shavings going to get inside a sealed box from outside without a failed seal which would leak fluid and wash the shavings away before they could get in the box? GM Customer Service, isn't "tech support" they are a call center that can contact the dealer and request the dealer to extend help to you, that's about it, in the context of this forum. Again, this post is the exact reason WHY there is a lack of "tech support" here. Nothing of this forum has ever guaranteed GM official tech support at all so??

It's impossible for metal from a worn pitman arm/shaft to get into the steering hydraulic system. Most of the "tech support" left this forum because they're sick of being asked for help then told they're wrong.

Sounds like an issue with the truck not the fob if the lights flash with the rvs request. I currently have a '17 rental while my '14 is in the body shop. I noticed that it doesn't rvs at times just like yours. I'm guessing their is an issue with the bcm as that is the module that is responsible for the rvs request. Try your second fob to make sure it's not a fob issue just in case.

Actually if you roll the throttle, torque management doesn't jump in and whoa things up so much. Try and drive it aggressively and it's a pooch. I learned that with my 6.2's.

You didn't read my explanation, above your post that I quoted, I see. My '14 5.3 runs almost as hard as my '11 and '13 6.2's did, especially on E-85, if driven right. I've never heard of anyone blaming the amount of torque management in these trucks on the flexible pedal mounting bracket. I get what it's doing and what is being discussed here but the K2 engines have more torque management programmed into them that any of the 900 Series trucks had. Saying that GM intentionally made the pedal bracket flexible for fuel economy or for more torque management, especially to the point of trying to sue GM for it is some of the craziest things I've read in a long time. Again, I posted the exact reason why GM did what they did with the pedal bracket. You can believe it or not, I'm not going to argue with you. I've worked deep within "the house" for 10 years and I'm not here to brag about what I know or throw it in anybodies face but sometimes people on forums make my head hurt. I guess all I had to do is come back here, after a long hiatus, to read something like this. One of the many reasons why I quit reading/posting/contributing here.

All they had to do is seat the carpet retainer that was rubbing the edge of the pedal plate and the noise would go away. I trimmed mine so that if it ever did back off a little, it couldn't rub and make the noise. It's engineered correctly, nothing to fix. How'd that turn out for you? Vibration control. That's what they were thinking. One of the many complaints about AFM equipped 900 Series trucks was vibrations through the gas pedal when the engine was in afm mode. See previous reply. This pedal bracket mounting is used on many GM vehicles for the same concern. I've never seen one complaint until I read this thread. Incorrect. Read above.

Either the tire/wheel assemblies have excessive radial force variation, the rear driveshaft (propshaft) is out of balance or the right side engine mount needs to be shimmed 3 mm. Those are the only vibration issues that I have seen with a K2XX truck.

Yeah, do the math. For what you're probably going to lose on selling it, you're not going to make up with cheap fuel and marginally better fuel economy. I get within 15% of a 5.3 for fuel economy, on average (pulling or not) and premium fuel cost me less than $300 a year more than regular fuel due to it being less than only 10% cheaper than premium around here. Not worth it IMO. I might give one of the new 5.3's a try when I step up to a K2XX but that all depends on if they are even around in 2-3 years when I'm ready for one.

All it did was make noise. Maybe .5 mpg increase but I "felt" no real performance increase with a stock tune. If the noise wasn't so bad (even though I knew it would be loud but wanted to try it anyway) I probably would've kept it.

See it everyday. Bud of mine couldn't believe the difference in how good his '12 nht ran on premium. His dealer said nothing about it. GM actually did all development testing on the 6.0 and 6.2 on premium. Seen/felt a large difference in a friends hd 6.0 after converting it to premium as well. Never seen a difference in running anything higher than 87 in and of the 5.3's personally. Mine did as well, on both of my 6.2's.

Nothing but premium and E85 in both of my 6.2's since day one.

I've never seen it under $3.29 a gallon around here, in the past 3 years.

Just to throw my math out here....... 15,000 miles last year driven. Averaged 14 mpg over that mileage on premium. 15,000 / 14 = 1,072 gallons of fuel (I rounded up). Premium here averaged $4 a gallon last year. 1,072 gallons at $4 a gallon would cost $4,288 Averaged 11 mpg on E-85 15,000 / 11 = 1,364 gallons of ethanol. Ethanol averaged $3.40 a gallon here last year. 1,364 gallons at $3.40 a gallon would cost $4,637.60. $4,637.60 / 1072 = $4.33 a gallon. So, premium, would have to be $4.33 a gallon, with ethanol staying at $3.40 a gallon, for me to break even. I've never seen premium take a significate spike in price without ethanol following it, in my area. Premium is currently $4 a gallon here. Ethanol is currently $3.35. I'll continue to run premium.

Which is weird because every time that I've run E85 vs premium I always loose out big money spent, wise. I loose 3-4 mpg on ethanol It would take over a $1.00 difference in price to break even and ethanol is rarely more than .$60 a gallon cheaper than premium here. Not to mention, there is only one pump in my area and 0 up north where I usually travel.
