For those of you looking to setup your own MultiPro tailgate speaker system, well HERE YOU GO! Wiring harnesses and amplifier brackets to make your project super easy!! No splicing or hacking away at your expensive factory wiring! I have a limited number of the items in stock, 10 or so of each, with more that will be ready next week! When I did mine, I used the Soundstream ST4.1000DB bluetooth amp (and I am very pleased with it so far), so all of the options are available as plug and play with that particular amp. Or you can just get a harness with a pigtail that will give you 12v+ power and ground in your inner tailgate, so you can wire it up to whatever you want. Don’t forget to check out the options for adding lights and the speaker wiring harness to make the whole system truly PLUG & PLAY. so much better sound than the Kicker system for a lot less money! All items come with complete installation instructions (with pictures, ha)! Let me know if you have any questions! www.multiprorocks.com

Every other truck has that led strip at the bottom of the tailgate, haven't personally seen anyone put one in the middle of the ones equipped with the multiflex tailgate. Always wanted to do this but my old T1 had the alternate one with the "Chevrolet" lettering. Idea is simple the strip goes in the middle, has turn signal functions and a running light. Hope one day someone will figure out one that's able to bend, is equipped with a reverse light, and a brake light. I tried first with the regular tailgate strips but those don't bend easy also light doesn't get through at all. This strip is meant for the hood thus shoots the LED light through the bottom, this allows me to slightly expose the strip on the bottom through the gap and let light shine brightly. You'd think it would look bad but after putting tint over it, it's hardly noticeable (maybe because my truck is that dark mineral grey). It's spliced to the running light on the 7 way trailer wire and the turn signals are spliced into the taillights. Love to hear some feedback I personally love it and I think it's unique, maybe a little "Ford-ish" I believe the new f150s come with a strip in the tailgate but hey people put side exits by the door on silverados and the Lighting definitely started that so here we are. Below are 3 links to YouTube videos on examples of the strip.

Hey folks Long time lurker, first time poster. Looking to add some speakers to the multi-pro tailgate for the camping season, but I am not really interested in getting the Kicker solution. I would rather do a set of marine speakers with a Focal 2 channel amp for Bluetooth connectivity. I'm not sure how to mount speakers in the tailgate itself though. Has anyone done their own custom install in the tailgate? Looking for some direction here. Another problem I can forsee, is being able to switch the amp on/off. I was thinking of doing a limit switch on the inner tailgate to trigger the amp. Just looking for some ideas. Thanks!

Removed my tailgate earlier this week to have it painted, reinstalled it yesterday and made sure to connect the harness properly. The backup camera works fine, but whenever I try to open the tailgate, either by pressing the button on the tailgate or using my key fob, the taillights flash 3 times and the tailgate doesn't open. From within the cab, I hear a faint clicking, but no error code or anything shows on any display. I have the "power lock and release" standard tailgate, not power lift or multipro. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated!

I have a 2015 Sierra "Work truck" with manual tailgate key lock (no remote electronic opening or camera; plain latch). The lock has worked great up until now. (Normally, turning the key 1/4 turn to the left unlocks the tailgate by engaging the latch handle.) Now, I can turn the key just short of the unlock position (turns freely, like usual, not gritty or rusty or sticky), but then the lock binds. Feels like something internally fell into the mechanism is preventing the lock cylinder from turning the last little bit. Therefore, my latch handle will not engage to open the tailgate. Is this a known/common problem? Fixes?

My new truck has cameras all over it. Front, side, rear, top. I figured out how to remove the tailgate, even made a short UTube video to help others, but after removing it, I found out that the camera system does not work. I still wanted the front, side, and top cameras to work with the tailgate off. Has anybody else encountered this? Figured out how to keep them working with the tailgate off?

Hi, I'm new here and I wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about fixing the tailgate latch rods on a 2005 GMC Sierra. When I bought the truck, the tailgate wouldn't open but I thought all it needed was a replacement latch because the connecting pins were gone. I replaced the tailgate latch itself because i needed to anyway, but the rod on the right is stuck in place. Does anyone know what might be the problem? The left rod moves freely, but the right one is stuck. Thanks for any help.

Hey everyone. I picked up my 2021 Trail Boss two weeks ago. It's equipped with the power open & close tailgate (not just the power release). This weekend I noticed the tailgate was loose when it was closed, so I cycled it open and closed, and it fully latched like it should. I tried it again, and it latched, but it failed to pull in to the second latched (tight) position. You can hear and see it try, but it fails. It has continued to fail since, even if I close the tailgate manually. With the tailgate open, I can use my finger to press the latch into the first and second latched positions, it just won't completely do it when actually closing the tailgate. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm calling the dealer later, but figured I'd ask here as well.

None of the cameras work after pulling the power tailgate. Pulled the tailgate to load a slide in truck camper. Had to disconnect the power for the power tailgate and the camera plug for the tailgate camera. Looks like I need to find something to plug back into the tailgate camera plug in order to complete the circuit for the camera system. I found a GM generic camera part number 84676845 but it's the camera only, no wire connection. Checked some audio vid places but their plugs don't match the GM connection above the spare tire. Pic # 1 is the power plug (black) and camera plug (white) from the tailgate. Pic 2 is the white camera plug desperately looking for a new plug mate. Any thoughts???

I'm looking to get a soft roll up tonneau cover for my 2019 trail boss. I was at the dealer last night and they were telling me that since the 2019 trail boss has the auto open tailgate that you have to go with the GM version of the tonneau cover and that the other branded covers prevent you from utilizing the auto open feature. Does anyone know if this is the case. and if so has anyone ever had the GM tonneau cover? is it good quality? I have always been an access guy but would still like to still be able to use the auto tailgate open feature. does anyone have any experience with this? does anyone have the lorado access cover on their silverado and still able to use the auto open feature?

Anyone have any luck with tailgate letter inserts? Was interested in getting some, but wasn't sure what color to go with on my Northsky Blue Metallic. White might make it pop, but the silver/aluminum or American flag might look cool too. Any pictures on yours might help me as well. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I purchased my truck a few months ago and most of the time i need to press the button 2-5 times to drop my tailgate without any help. With a little (and i mean 5 lbs) of pulling while pressing the button it works most of the time, even then i might have to press it twice. The truck is a new body 2019 Silverado LT 4x4. It started doing this day one, i thought it might just need to work in/break in and it did not. Is anyone else having this issue? If so do you know how to fix it? I have tried with the vehicle on level ground and even then it does not work all the time also i tried it on grounds where the front is up a few inches and i would still have to press at least twice. Every 50 times or so it will go down with one press. Any help will be appreciated.

I noticed when towing a trailer with a trailer mounted crank jack (tongue jack bolted onto the trailer) that the large tailgate on my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab strikes the trailer crank jack when opened. It appears the tailgate is much larger than older models so that when the gate opens, it actually hits the trailer mounted crank jack handle and could cause damage to the finish of the tailgate. This seems to be a design flaw with this tailgate. Something everyone should be aware of on the 2019 Silverado. I don't think there is any solution to this issue.

Speakers in GMC Multi-function tailgate
Carl Gordulic posted a topic in 2019-2025 Silverado & Sierra
Has anyone installed the kicker speaker system in the Multi-function tailgate? If so just wandering how difficult or if you had to take to a dealer. Thanks, -
Does anybody know what the 2019 Sierra body parts are made from? The doors, hood and tailgate seem to be made of some type of composite material. I'm having it rustproofed and just am curious.
