I am curious is the power source i need for the dvds under my flip up console. I know there is a power source in the very bottom part of the flip up console but it has power all the time and was wondering if there is something to wire into under the console that doesn't have power all the time. And if there is how do i take the console apart to get to it. Thanks Chuck

If you are not familiar with electrical wiring, probably best to have an auto electric business or car stereo business do this.

 

In either case, they or you would need a factory wiring diagram. This would be in a GM Factory Service Manual set for your year/model vehicle. You can order this from helminc.com or a GM dealer.

 

And VERY important to know exactly what you are tapping into with a newer vehicle. There are all sorts of computers, computer network wires, things like air bag wires, etc.

 

So far as taking things apart, the factory service manuals can be helpful as what you need to remove first, then second, etc. But sometimes they just say "Remove xx part" and don't go into detail. So some things you just have to figure out on your own.
