Take A Trip To Florida

Taking a trip to Florida How's it going everybody,

Just had a question about fuel economy while towing. I have to take both my trucks to florida coming from Aiblene, Texas for storage at my folks house. Moving to South Korea for a year. I was just wondering what kind of fuel economy should i expect on the trip. I'll be towing about 7000lbs (my dodge ram and the car hauler combined) I get about 10.5-11 in the city and 13-15 on the highway. I won't do over 65 on the interstate (unless going faster will get me better mileage) I'm running a Predator with the 91oct tune. Trying to budget for fuel cost. What do you guys get when you're towing light weight? Anybody got any tips on pre trip maintenance prep?

Thanks

I would estimate around 8mpg. I have the 7.4L which I know is a different animal and I get 9 at 10,000 towing weight. But i have the superchips program with a lil better exhaust. That should give you somewhat a baseline. However one thing you should know my best mileage comes with engine RPM's around 2400-2500 rpm. Below that mileage falls off considerably.

You should be able to get 7-9 mpg pulling that load. I'd bet on closer to 9 on flat land.
