Anyone ever had this happen before? Mine is an '05...just happened on the way back from lunch. My side is blowing hotter than hell and the other is ice cold.

I am checking fuses now.

I pulled the Heat/AC fuse and then replaced it. Musta been a vacuum door malfunction....blowing cold again....whew...that was close....it's still hot here in Texas!

your blend door actuator was stuck or is dying.. the one in my tahoe did the same thing.. I took it off and put it back on, and it is currently working.. the actuator is on the passenger side, under the knee panel.. the one for the drivers side is on the bottom, above the hump.. the one for the pass side is on the top, under the dash.. better hope it's not that one...

the one for the defrost, floor, or vent is on the drivers side above the gas pedal area..

It was the drivers side blowing hot....so it's on the bottom of the dash?

yup..

if your truck is the same as my hoe, there are 3 or 4 7 mm screws that hold the knee panel up,, and the one over the hump is a pain if you have a center console like the hoe.. once you take it off, it's right there at the hump.. unplug it, take out the two screws... I think mine was binding or something, cause I took it off, took it apart,, everything looked ok... nobody had one in stock, so I stuck it back in for the time being.. then the friggin thing worked fine.. take the panel off, and have someone adjust the temp setting on the driver side.. the actuator is this flat looking triangle shaped box, with a plug and a hole in the top. the blend door peg fits into a hole in the actuator.. it's got a couple of flats, so you can't reinstall it wrong.. inside of the actuator is a buncha gears and a bi directional motor, and a circuit board..

if ya gotta buy one, they are 150 ish from autozone, advanced, ect.

Cool...mine has no center console...might be any easy removal. If it sticks again, I'll check it out...thanks!

Do you hear any clicking coming from under the dash? That's how mine started to go, opened it up after I installed the new one and the gears were stripped. If you replace, go thru rockauto ($135). Dealer will want $350-400.

Sure do...it stops when I push on the steering column. Sounded like an electrical short...very sharp clicking. Guess I'll be due for another door soon.
