Ac Tensioner & Serpentine Belt Replacement

Hello all. I've been given the task of changing my AC Tensioner & Serpentine belt on my 2003 Yukon XL Denali. My dad (long time brake mechanic, knows a good amt about cars) is going to help me with it, but is on vacation at the moment and cannot be reached to ask what I need to ask. Here are my questions:

 

Where's the best place to get the parts I need? I've been told to look for genuine GMC parts but thousands of websites come up and there's no dealership close enough to me to pick them up from.

 

How can I tell what size belt I need? A few of the sites had multiple belts depending on the size of your engine. As far as I can remember, the salesman said "456" so I'm not sure what that translates to on the websites as they don't have any 3 number sequence indicating engine size.

 

Is there anything else I should be replacing when I do this?

Look at the 8th digit of your VIN. You'll see that referenced when getting parts. "U" is for the 6.0 (364) that you should have if I remember correctly.

rockauto is a great site...just got done replacing my AC belt too...

 

I went with Gates for the belt...if you want you can get them through NAPA...they have a lifetime warnt.

 

IMO...they are best hoses and belts...just my 2 cents.
