I swore my car/truck buying days were over as I have 4 cars and 1 truck (all old Chevy's) but...looks like #6 is here! I think im going Chevy crazy!!! (but loving it) I just bought a 1971 Cheyenne 20 long bed for a whopping 50 dollars! It was too good to pass up. It's even inspected and drivable although it does need work.
It is the 3/4 ton long bed fleetside and has alot of options. Originally orange and white (yeh!) and will be going back to orange. Not sure on the white yet as it's missing the side trim.
Can anyone enlighten me on this series? Anyone else have one similar? If im right, it was the top of the line version? Some options that I can think of are: Fancy upholstery, carpet, headliner, gauge package, sliding rear window, PB, 350 originally (now a 6), HD rear springs, and a 4 speed trans. It's got more but I haven't even owned it 24 hours yet so I have alot to learn.
Looks like I'll have to change my sig file.

50 bucks? and it runs? wow!

I have a '72 custom camper c/20, the cheyenne was pretty much the top of the line (i have a '72 dealer option list and sales brocure, I know it is a year off, but I may be able to give you some info off of those if you like)

Lucky dog! I'll give ya ? for it, double your money...

Seriously, though, sounds like a great find. I've gotten some good deals, but that pretty much tops them all.

After spending some time with this truck, looks like im gonna fix her up. It passed my personal inspection and is pretty solid. The ? dollar price tag had me wondering at first.

Looks like I'll be rescueing another. I do love that 4 speed!

Bob, I have a 1972 GMC 2500 longstep and a recently-acquired 1967 Chevy C20 Custom Camper. These are fine pickups. The best resource on the web (or anywhere) for these pickups is at 67-72ChevyTrucks.com. They would be glad to answer any questions you have. And show us some pics!

This is what it looked like when I first got it. She's dirty and that red primer and green hood is nasty looking but im sure it had alot to do with why I got it for 50.00 I bought this truck without even seeing it as I knew it would have atleast that much in good parts. After spending some time with it I decided to give it a new lease on life.
I got it running real good now and even got the fenders almost done. I have a long way to go but for now you'll just have to picture it orange like im doing. ;) It's just nice knowing that I rescued it as it was close to being junked because the previous owner had no where to store it. That would have been a terrible waste as it really is very solid and alot better than the pic looks.

I couldn't see the images, only got an Angel Fire logo.

I wish I had room to store a few vehicles, every now and then I'll come across a pretty good deal, but can't jump on it for space reasons....

Sorry, they were there but poof, they're gone. Angelfire must be a real peach of a webhost huh? I'll have to find somewhere else that actually works. :)

Ok, it looks like they are there now. :)

Thanks Jeff. That pic makes the truck look worse than it really is. Glad you could look past the ugly colors. ;) There's more than $500 dollars worth of parts on this one! (not to mention the bed load of parts it came with) It has a perfect grill too! Try finding one of those.

It's a good feeling knowing that I will be giving this one a new lease on life. It came within inches of being scrapped!

67-72 Chevy trucks rule!
