Duramax N/a In Exteneded Cabs Anymore?

I was just at the GMC dealer looking at some trucks and got to talking with the owner. I asked if they had any D/A EC coming in and he said, can't get a Duramax in the ext cab for 2010 . When I questioned that he showed my on the order system where its not listed as an available engine for that model. Crew cab, available, extended can No.

 

That sure seems odd, he had not idea if its was temporary or not but it was strange it was not even listed as an available engine in that model. You would not think they would do that?

 

Btw-He searched the locator and found a lot of 2009's trucks that were only 2 days old in dealer stock. They are still building 2009 models its would seem?

GM is shuting down Pontiac assembly where the ext-cabs are built, Ft Wayne assembly is not prepared to build the diesels yet, and with the new emissions coming, the Flint Assembly plant is stocking more LMM's than normal. I hear that normal numbers of Diesel Ext-cabs will be available 2011 model year.

Well I guess I have to live with AFM for one more year. Not at all interested in a crew cab.
