05 Chevy 1500 Trailer Light Problem.

Please help I am leaving tomorrow morning for cross country trip and am desperate.

 

Vehicle is an 05 chevy 1500 series pickup with factory 7pin trailer connection.

 

I only have an output for the left brake/turn signal light at this connector. Trailer brakes are working correctly

 

My question is.

 

1. Is there a control module that would be suspect? If so where is it?

 

2. As a last resort can I do a temporary work around using a splice off the harnesses going to the trucks tail lights?

 

3. Is there a common problem I should check first?

The trailer lights are now fused. Look in you owners manual and find the appropriate fuse and check it out.

Found it thanks... one under the hood and one in the side. both blown. Cooking with gas now!

Keep some fuses on hand in the glove box or some where. I found they will blow when you disconnect the plug with the lights on. I try to remember to turn the off but sometimes I forget. Forgetting is one thing that has gotten easier with age.
