Added An Air Box, Tuner And Exhaust To 2009 Lmm Duramax

Well I bit the bullet, added some performance and wow...what a difference it makes. The truck is an 09 GMC 2500 with the LMM Duramax Diesel. It's been lifted 4" with a Rancho kit and I've added MT wheels, DC tires, painted pocket flares and a couple bling items to a black truck. It looks good and while in the shop this week I asked them to add the Pacific Performance tuner, an S&B hi flow and set the tuner to level 2 until the DPF is removed next week.

At that time, I am also changing out the stock exhaust and have opted for the Magnaflow system. At setting 2 the PP tuner adds a nice boost of about 90hp but the torque gain is what's got me smiling from ear to ear. Turn the Traction Control off now and it breaks the tires loose in stride. Now it's got me wondering what's left on the table with 2 more power settings to go. lol

Once the exhaust is changed, I'll drive it like it is since I don't want to go breaking things 3 weeks into a new truck. Anyone else running a PP tuner on an 09? What's it like when you step up the fuel to level 3&4 after the exhaust is changed?

PPE is an awesome handheld tuner, best for the Duramax, once you get rid of the DPF it will be a whole new truck, and you actually get decent mileage with the DPF gone too. Good luck with it, becareful with the PPE has more than enough to hurt that Allison.

I'm sure it does and that's why I am leaving it on setting 2 which is supposed to add 90/160. Is the Allison strong enough to handle that increase if driven hard?
