Painting Viper Key Fob

Anyone have any tips or has anyone done it before? Could I do it without damaging the remote it self? Just wondering if i tape everything off if paint would damage anything on the inside? Also can anyone find anything to maybe take it apart and put it back together so I wouldn't have to worry about paint getting into anything? any ideas would be helpful thanks guys!

you can take it apart real easy. There should be a slot on the side of it somewhere. Use a flat head screw driver and twist. Should pop right apart. so you can take the insides out.

unfortunately mine did not come out great...it probally could have but I didn't have all the proper tools to sand it down and clean the plastic. what I did was took it apart completly...took the screen out the antenna everything and put 3 coats of primer 3 coats of paint. At this point it didnt look too bad but i was impatient and started trying to put it back together too early and it messed it up. so i recoated it but there are now raised spots and finger prints. My second problem was with the glue i used to adhere the screen back on to the remote. I used a little to much on the sides and it ended up pushing out to the middle of the screen and since I had already put it back together before i put the glue on i could not wipe it up. So stupid mistakes on my part made it look pretty shitty so I will have to wait till another day off to try and fix it.

 

So just some tips for anyone trying to do the same. Take it completely apart, give it ample time to dry, don't use a ton of glue to glue the screen back on, and glue the screen on before assembling everything... I will update with pics the next time i try to clean it up and redo it with all the proper tools
