I'm going to replace my speakers with some JL evoloution coaxs and was thinking about deadening the whole door one to help with outside sound. But I was wandering if it really would help the door speakers or be to boomy. Has anybody done this with any luck? OH 09 sierra crew cab.

You can't go wrong. Deadening the sheet metal will tighten up the sound and keep additional road noise out. Highly recommended by me!

Now is the time to do it if you have to take the door panel off.

I added dynamat to all 6 doors of my suburban and it did help a lot (I push a powerful system) but don't expect it to be silent in your car unless you go all out with floor liner and doing the ceiling and all. I suggest buying on ebay.

in addition to dyno mat you could also get back boxes for the speakers in your doors to help suppress the sound. they are fairly inexpensive, most install shops sell them.

I'm a roofer and we use this product called Protecto Wrap 45. It's the same thing as Dynomat and you can get a 3' x 50' roll for $200, from our supplier at least. Just a thought...
