Cruise Control Buttons

Hi, new member here. Just bought a 2007 Silverado W/T crew cab with the 4.8L, 4800 miles on the clock. Have a question regarding the cruise control buttons. A buddy of mine has an 08 Silverado W/T crew cab, and his steering wheel controls light up with the exterior lights. However, mine don't. I've searched, and it seems that the LED's are prone to going out. Could this be the issue, or did the 07's not light up?

TIA,

Dave

I'm not pro, but I did a lot of research when i was swapping out my steering wheel and am pretty sure the w/t models simply do not light up. They are pretty bare bones. I do not however know if it is the steering wheel that just doesn't have lights or if the wiring is simply not there. I actually have an extra wheel with the cruise control that did light up that i took out of my LT model. I could probably hook you up with it at a good price, I'm tired of it taking up space and too lazy to ebay it.

Thanks for the info. Kinda tight on $$ right at the moment. Might play with the steering wheel and see what I can find. Might hit you up later for the wheel if you still have it.

Thanks again!

Buddy of mine suggested looking in the fuse panel for the SWC BKLT fuse and see if it's burnt out. There was no fuse in that location. Tried putting another fuse in there to see, but doesn't feel like there are any connectors behind the fuse box. Fuse was real loose in that slot. I guess that the WT trucks just aren't wired for the steering wheel controls to be back lit.

Look to see if you have the 2 amp fuse for the SWC (steering wheel control) installed in the fuse box on the left side of the dash between the end of the dash and the door panel
