Headers Wont Fit!

So my suspension tower is blocking me from putting my heads on that were suppose to fit!

bastards.

Any way I could possibly get them on?

I don't think so but it never hurts to ask.

So you can't put the heads on because of your suspension towers? Do you mean headers?

If so, many headers require you to unbolt the engine mounts and lift the engine to get the headers in. Headers are a royal pain in the ass, IMO. But, they provide a function if you need them.

Yeah that's what I meant. Hmmm.

Almost every time i put headers on a truck ive had to unbolt a motor mount and jack it up to get the headers in. So im guessing thats what you are gonna have to do.

Well being that I have nothing to pull or hold the motor out I took it to a muffler shop that installed headers.

They had a pit and took the passenger side manifold off and said it wouldn't fit, because it was hitting the suspension tower.

So I went and look and sure enough it wasn't going to slide in there.

He said it won't fit no matter what you do, they're just to big.

Still got charged $135.

Lets just say that was a bad day for me.

Well in the morning I will measure my headers and the distance from the manifold to the tower to see if it could sit in there without hitting the suspension tower.

Even if it does fit I'm still looking at even more money for someone to put them in. I'm just going to try and sell them and get my money back so I can stop hating myself and the place that said they would fit.

If they're meant to fit...They will. You just have to Listen to what everyone else told you. Get a floor jack and some wood, find a place under the engine *THAT IS NOT THE OIL PAN* to support and jack the engine up. You than use a ratchet strap to roll the engine side to side. Than pop your headers on.

The other thing is that you could have purchased a cherry picker to lift the engine for the 135 you spent at the muffler shop.

What kind of headers (short, long)? What Mfg.? New or used? If new, did they come with instructions, are they the correct headers for your application? and have you talked to the Mfg.? If used, does the mfg. of the headers still have any installation instructions available? and are they the correct header for your application?

I installed new Gibson headers on my '03 GMC 1500HD and they fit perfectly, just followed the detailed instructions and had zero problems.

And the place that said they'd fit won't take them back

Do you have a body lift? If so, they won't fit
