2002 HD radio swap with 2000 S-10

My uncle has a 2000(I think) S-10 with a factory cd player.  He doesn't use it so I asked him if he would trade me for my factory radio.  

My question is will it fit?  I've heard that the mounting system might not be the same.  Does anyone know if it will fit in my 2002 HD.

And what's the price difference between the cd player and the radio?  If I offer him some money I'm pretty sure he'd trade me.

From my experience all the delco head units are the same size.  I would  take the one out of your s10 and compare the two thought to be completely sure.  Every vehicle I have seen they are the same size.

Ok, I think it will fit.  I need to know how to pull the dash ring off.  I was told all I have to  do is pull it off.  So I don't need any special tools right?  Which end would be the best to start at?  After I get the radio installed, I just need to snap the dash ring back on, right.

start at the ashtray  you can get the best grip on the piece there,   I've had mine off 2000000 times painting it and they just come off with a few snaps and pop right back on
