Getting The Truck's "Birth Certificate"?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for the "birth certificate" or "certificate of origin" for my 2000 Sierra. I had one for a previous truck and recall that I got it through the GM web site but I don't find an option for that on their current site. Seems all they want to do is sell new trucks on their site.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain the original factory information for my vehicle?

To the best of my knowledge, the certificate of origin is what the dealership uses/turns into the state in which the vehicle is registered to obtain a title. What you can do, if it'll help you to have what you need; Go to a local GM dealership with your full VIN and their service department or sales department can print up all available info on your vehicle. I'd do it for you but my access has expired. Best of luck.
