What I would like to know is if I were take a 2wd/4High/4Low switch assembly from a Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban, etc.. could I install it and would it be functional? If it is not just plug-n-play can I reprogram the PCM with the Tech II so it will work or will I have to go further in order to have some fun drifting in the snow?

Thanks in advance!

Nope,The Denali uses a completely different transfer case than the regular Tahoe/Yukon/Suburbans.

Thanks for the quick response.

Would I be able to swap them and install the switch to be able to manually select drive configuration?

I guess you could if you got all the wiring/switches/sensors etc.,My opinion....It wouldn't worth the swap money or timewise.

we put a man on the moon, so anything is possible...

But,, you'd have to change the t-case, the front diff to a type with a disconnect, switch, drive shaft due to lenght, then who knows about the wiring..

I think the awd is great,, as I have a 04 hoe that is awd and a 2001 silverado that is 4wd, and the hoe actually gets better mileage.. it gets 17 mph mixed... truck gets 15.5ish

With the kind of money you could end up spending on the swap you could drop a nice magnacharger on there and do AWD drifting in the snow...and on dry pavement too. Which IMO is way cooler.

Drifting in an AWD SUV isn't that hard. Just requires more throttle. :(

you can't pull any fuses, as the front axle is live all of the time,, and there is no disconnect.. if you did pull the front driveshaft, you'd burn up the internals of the t-case, as there is a diff in there to do the 37(front) 63(rear) power split..

I would suggest if it's that important, sell the awd and find a z-71 tahoe, as they have the 2,4, and auto 4 features.
