Katech Engine Performance

I have a 05 silverado with magna charger, i'm thinking about replacing the motor.. Has anyone heard of Katech engine development?? the motor is built by them and the guy that has it said it was a test motor and it is only $4500 but supposed to push about 750HP.. seemed cheap after looking at katechs website, and i'm not sure if its smart to get since its a test motor, any opinons??

In what manner, and by whom was it tested? The guy or Katech. They build killer motors. It may be worth getting it, but investigate a bit.

He said the motor was built by katech with all forged internals and is built for a blower, and the it was just a test motor from them, he hasnt done anything to it except inspect it, he said it still has the test plugs on it from the dyno, I will have to get pictures of it monday and see how it looks

If it's a Katech engine it will be serialized by them. Get that number and call them, they will be able to tell you the info and test bed it was used for if it was a Katech internal test bed engine. If it was ordered and used a test bed engine they may only have info on the build and where it went. I dought that you will ownership info due to privacy concerns. They build some killer stuff and build the GM Vett racing engines.

Thats good to know, thanks i'll have to do that for sure because the shop doesn't really seem to know much about whats inside it as he hasnt takin anything off to look, he just said that its built for a blower and suposedly has all forged internals
