02 Envoy Battery Drain

I checked the parasitice drain and it was pulling 150 ma. I went through the isolation routine which indicated the LGM (Lift Gate Module)/DSM (Driver Seat Module) Fuse 6 (10 Amp) circuit. I started disconnecting items on this circuit starting with the seat connectors, no change. I then went for the Lift Gate Module in the back hatch. Disconnected the module and drain dropped to 20ma.

OK, from what I can find using online wiring schematics this module receives constant power as it also operates the remote door locks. I'm guessing the issue is the module should be going into a sleep mode and is not, thus the heavy 130 ma drain. Before I run out and purchase a new LGM I have one other point of concern.

I purchased this vehicle used where the previous owner installed an aftermarket remote starter. The previous owner did not have the remote and of course I have never used it; I assumed it was disconnected. I found the control box for this remote starter tucked up under the dash near the steering column.

As anyone had this problem with the Lift Gate Module or is it possible this remote starter is actually the culprit causing the LGM to stay in a high drain mode.

Thanks
