Park Assist Not Working When Cold

I searched for park assist problems and haven't found what I am looking for. Lately here (northern Iowa) its been extremely cold (down to -35F). When it is very cold, my park assist doesn't work. If I leave my 08 Sierra 1500 outside with the bumper facing the south sun for a few hours then the system is ok. The next morning its cold again and acts up. Could this be a sensor malfunctioning? Is there a procedure to diagnose bad sensors or wiring? Thanks for any help! Brad

I've had the same problem with my 07 Silverado, but in much warmer temps (well, 20s...)... I figured I had maybe gotten snow or ice over the sensors or the cold was reeking havoc on the system. I'd notice it was acting up when shifting into reverse and the truck immediately going to 2 yellow / 1 red and fast beeping. This would last for about 10 seconds and then would shut itself off. My DIC would indicate "Parking Sensors Off" or something like that. I got out of the truck to find the sensors are clear with nothing behind me.

I am from Bancroft, just across the border south of Blue Earth. Where are you from?

Mine only doesn't work right, and eventually shuts it self off when they are iced up or caked with snow

These are completely clean, no ice or snow. That is why this is puzzling to me.
