08 Silverado Tailgate

Well my tailgate was stolen last night off my truck...highly pissed off!!!..Anyhow I was wondering if any of you guys might know how much this might cost to replace?

Sorry to hear about your tailgate, I can't help you on pricing on a new one but will suggest a lock when you get it replaced. I got tailgate lock from the dealer for $50, mostly from deterring thieves interested in my smoked tails but also the tailgate itself. Good luck on the search.

That realy sucks! In Canada at least the tailgate shell will cost you about $1200.00 then you need the mechanism(s) and then painting to colour code/match it....in Total $1800-2000.00 Best bet might be to seek out an auto wrecker?

Wow I never would have guessed a tailgate could cost so much. Insurance deductible is 500 so I bet I will end up making a claim. Makes me sick what people will steal!

Was it stolen while the truck was parked at your house? Homeowner's insurance should cover it.

 

Your auto policy should cover the loss under the Comprehensive part of the policy. Typically, the deductible amount for Comprehensive is lower than Collision.

Ya it was stolen in front of my apartment. I do have renters insurance as well. Don't know if that would cover anything or not..My luck it would not

put 2 of these on where your tail gate mounts..about $1.50 it will slow them down enough to give up
