Boosting A 5.3l Silverado?....

If you are going with a blower, I would suggest one with an intercooler like a Magnacharger. Turbo's are nice, but for these big trucks, they take a bit to spool up and get you HP in the RPMs unlike a blower. Hi 11s low 12s is asking for a lot, you will need a few other supporting mods to get those numbers.

Like bear said you would need a little more mods but can be done. I have a Procharger but I don't use it for racing and it's a CC 4x4 so I don't know what it run's,but I have a good friend that has the new 6.2 truck and he can't run with mine so they do help. The guy's on performancetruck.net have some good mod's done so you can start to ask them.

We have a customer who runs a 12.4 1/4 with a Procharger as it sits here:

THAT is a fantastic looking truck...tough but understated.

Jenna...in your opinion, what could a stock 4L60, 5.3, and rear end from 2006 safely take in terms of power?

Well, my Tahoe is making right around 550HP and I am still running stock engine and rear end. But I think I am pretty lucky, as I am pushing 11.1PSI, we figured the transmission would go after the first few months.

Really? Wow...impressive.

I would like to be in the 400-450 range...but still as drivable as a DD as it sits now.

What would be the easiest way to get there?

(sorry to thread hijack...just didn't want to create a whole other thread...)

My Tahoe is my DD and is just fine in any driving condition, I just don't need to use as much throttle. The best way to start out would be to spec out a cam, get some LTs, and pick out a blower. This should put you pretty deep into the 400s.
