Air Filter Gasket Question

Hey guys

 

Just decided after years of K and N air filter to get rid of it since its been cleaned one too many times.

So I picked up an Air Hog by Fram for $16.00. cool but after I was putting it in I noticed a gasket on the airfilter box which I thought I put on when I put in the K and N years ago ( they would often come with a gasket) now after taking the gasket out im wondering was it a factory Gasket that needs to be there or is it ok with out it.

So was there a factory Gasket in your 04 5.3 air filter box (stock)
