Ppe Oil Centrifuge

Common centrifuge will not break down the oil. It will remove particles, water, etc that are not bound at the molecular level. Engine mfg plants use large centrifuges to filter the oil they use during engine testing without concern.

Is it worth 900 for a centrifuge for the truck? That is a good question. Assume you put 12000 miles a year, thats 4 oil changes per year. Say filter runs $5, thats $20 a year in oil filters. 900/20 is a 45 year payback period. Most people dont keep a truck that long, and I doubt the centrifuge itself will make the engine last that long.

For me, I would spend my money elsewhere.

That's kinda what I was thinking. This is my first diesel though, and the oil changes are a little more than $25.

I have also been thinking about the amsoil bypass system. More frequent changes are also, an option, but much more hassle.

Centrifuging oil is common in industrial situations where a huge volume of oil is being sent to the engines. For us at the automotive level they aren't gonna pay for themselves anytime soon. They do have their benefits for sure but in most of our cases it would just be money spent that you may never recoupe.

Centrifuging oil will not remove the "good" stuff from the oil, only the particulate matter gets spun out.
