Help-2002 Avalanche Pdm Passenger Door Module/ Keyless Entry Problems

I have an 2002 Avalanche. The Keyless entry does not work. I have tried reprogramming the fob, and the locks click on then off like they are supposed to after holding the unlock and cycling the key on off twice. but the key fob does not work the doors after the 15 seconds of holding both lock and unlock. I have installed a new battery in remote. same results. I tried another remote from brothers 2003 chevy truck with same fcc ID number, same results. I even tried a 99 suburban fob with different fcc, same results. I have read that a Technical service bulliten for 2003 chevy trucks the PDM passenger door module need software updating. My question is, if this is true for my 2002, would the doors lock and unlock (like they should) when going through the motions of reprogramming a fob. To me, I wouldn't think the PDM would be bad if it goes through the motions, but I suppose it could be. If anybody has dealt with these issues, and can help me with more ideas let me know. I have read the PDM software update procedure and it only takes a few minutes, but I don't want to pay $100 at my chevy dealership if this is NOT the problem. (I have read the exact procedure) The dealer wants $100, . If anybody can help, shoot me an email. If anybody has any other suggestions, please let me know. Another thing I just thought of is that I only have the remote #2 that came with the truck when I bought it. Would that make a difference? Also, which box is the PDM in the passenger door. I know its on the undersie of the switch, just don't know which one. If I replaced it, would it still need reprogramming? Thanks
